Re: Happy RAH Day "X" Joe & Co ... and Forum Family

I was wondering when someone would get around to posting about this.  It was such an amazing event for so many of us.  Those of us who were there will never forget it - it was the start of many wonderful friendships that persist to this day.  It was also a turning point in Joe's career - if you hadn't heard of him before this so many people did after the video started getting played on PBS here in the states that Joe finally started getting the recognition he deserved.

I have just returned from London where I attended one of the ten year anniversary shows.  Here are a few pics:

It was great being with so many I spent that first RAH show with, but bittersweet that all of us who shared that special night couldn't do so again.  So glad Joe came into my life 15 years ago.

I remember going back and reading your posts from the show and after with the pictures of the post show party at The Cocoon.
What an eventful night for Joe. He took off like a rocket. Just look at where he is now.

Great to read these posts and although I wasn’t there that was a special time in Joe fandom.
So much excitement. All the people a buzz here on the forum and the number of people posting in here too.
  Has the excitement faded?
Was it that we had a special secret that is no longer one?
That first RAH time was something you can’t replicate. If you were here the sheer energy surrounding it was amazing.
If I had a time machine I would dial it up for that show!

Helen and I joined a watch party this afternoon, all the good ones from RAH1. She remarked how lucky we were to be able to do #2 and the TDF week. Over the moon she said. We couldn’t swing #3, but the inet had us almost there. Thanks for the memories, I was lurking here and got the post stream.

That was the one and only picture I took that night.  I had tweeted it on the fourth but didn't realize Joe had used it on  Instagram as well.  I actually yelled at Christie Goodwin to get out of my way to take that one - and she did!  lol   (My camera had been sitting under my seat all night and we were on strict orders not to take any photos during the show).
