Re: I've been silent for some time...

Turns out he did in fact come out for this show. He just did his usual thing (go out to the bus, change, do voice warmdown excercises), then met with fans. I guess the moral of the story is "be patient."

I almost left the show in Decatur a month or so ago.....I didn't knwo about the cool down thing and figured he was tired...when the rest of the band emerged and mingled, I stuck around and got an awesome pic with JB...

Am I the only one anxiously awaiting the words of Kristine?

Heck, Joe does *before* show things with fans as well.  In Appleton, he had his picture taken with a fan and the rest of the band, plus signed everything I put in front of him before going off to Victoria's down the street for a huge Italian meal.

As I stated before, everyone in line at a cold Shank Hall show in Milwaukee got a guitar pick....another pre-show treat.

This is why he gets sick! :^)

This is exactly what I was going to post.  Since when should we as fans EXPECT the artist to mingle with the fans?  The only thing we are entitled to is the onstage performance that we paid to see.

Hey, Kristine!  Long time no chat. Please feel free to email me if you wish to share more. I won't rail on you.
I lost your email address, but I think you can access mine on here. I don't wish to get involved in any crap on here though. Been good about breaking that habit.

Re: I've been silent for some time...

Hi Becky,

I can appreciate your individual opinion and you seem very nice.  I hope you and Kristine can get in touch with each other.

I do have to address your point about getting involved in what you state as "crap on here".  If that is how you feel, okay.  And I am actually glad you were upfront enough to state it on the source.  But if there is any "crap"  anywhere going on it is on the Blog which you defend.  You guys say you like free speech(yeah, right),  well here it is on the forum.  Enjoy.

Re: I've been silent for some time...

Hey Rivercat,  My son and I were totally engulfed by die-hard Tesla fans at the concert and they said they had never known them to be so late....the crowd actually became quite loud and was chanting "Boo" and "Bull****" and it wasn't pleasant chanting at all.  Maybe the promoter should have come out and said something, I don't know...sorry if I stepped on your toes...I had seen Tesla before and had a meet and greet pass.  I was able to put some of the wait time to good use, showing the Tesla fans around me my "Joe stuff" that I got after he played...shirts, autographs, posters, guitar picks...I actually was reading Joe's bio to some of them out of the CD liner, as they didn't know anything about him....they were quite amazed at how excited I was about him,Bogie, and Mark....and they all agreed with me that they ROCKED!!!!

Re: I've been silent for some time...

Hey Everyone,
I feel somewhat compelled to comment here. I have been with Joe for about 6 months now. I have never seen anyone more dedicated to his fans. I have worked with plenty of other artists and none of them hold a candle to Joe in this area. He tours a minimum of NINE MONTHS out of a year. EVERY YEAR. Do you get that? that is 270 days away from home. Why? because he loves it and he loves his fans. I feel very fortunate to be in a band with a guy like that. My time here has been a blessing. I've met wonderful people and played in great venues, big and small, in 5 different countries, big and small. The touring drains you from time to time, you get snippy with people you have to spend 270 days a year with, everyone on the bus goes through it. However, I have NEVER seen Joe, or anyone on the bus, do that to a fan. If you've ever met Joe you know he is a smart guy. Do you really think he would slight his fanbase? Does he strike you as that type of person? This guy gives more to the people on any given night than anyone I know. Like it was said, Mark and I get a break during the set, Joe does not. He then goes to the bus to warm down his voice, a vital part of keeping his voice healthy, why? Because he cares. He does not want to cancel shows for any reason. He is also a consumate professional. If we show up to a gig and things are not the way they should be, Joe takes care of it. I have seen this guy personally pay for a better sound system on more than one occasion, not the promoter, who was supposed to provide it, but Joe, the artist, the professional. Why? Because he wants you, the fans, to have the best show possible coming off the stage and kicking your ****. I certainly hope this sheds a little light on what we deal with out there and for those of you who have your issues, I hope this helps you not take anything personally, I know it was never intended that way. I look forward to seeing all of you the next time we're in your area.
Thanks,
Bogie

Re: I've been silent for some time...

Bogie,

Thanks for your comments. I think the majority know how Joe is with his fans and really appreciate it. We also appreciate you and Mark. You took time out after the KC concert to take a picture with my son sitting at your drum set. To my son, Joe does not exist, (sorry Joe) he wants to be a drummer. It takes the whole band and crew to put on a great show. The guy (Joe?) selling the merchandise was sweet as well! Take care and come join our chat!

Re: I've been silent for some time...

It's all good Patti and you didn't step on my toes.  I have small feet, I don't think you could find them.

I just want it to be clarified that Tesla was not 2 hours late.   The actual times show it not to be the case.   And if the Tesla fans stated as you said " they had never known them to be so late",  then it shows it was unusual and they have a good concert record.   Frank did not feel well that night but did play, he couldn't hang out with people after the show.   Now some bad apples in the crowd can spoil it for all and that is what I had heard happened that night.  You said Tesla was uncool but it sounds like a few of those bad apples were the uncool ones, especially the ones throwing beer cans.  That is a shame.    Just wanted to clarify that what happened that night is not a usual Tesla show.   They like the audience to enjoy the music as much as they do.    They are great guys.

Glad you could make good use of the time and get a handful of Joe stuff.  Hope you get to see alot more of Joe and get all his CDs and DVDs  smile

No Patty, I wasn't there.  I wish I could've been there though. Tesla and Joe together, Yummy.    I've heard from different people who were there.  I'm from California and seen many a Tesla show and look forward to seeing them in Sept.   With the claws retracted in my shoes I wear a 6 and a half.  Claws out same size just full of holes.
