ZampraZ I still think you are making a good tone decision. My theory on tone is that you should be able to get at least 90% of "The Tone" with just the amp and guitar only. After that you just pepper in the other 10% with blended amps, overdrives, delays, reverb, etc to fill out the sound as needed. I picked up a 50 watt Dailey C-series head (based on the old plexis but has to my ears some of that Dumble "chirp" ) and 2x12 cab. I am mostly using just that one amp and my Les Paul getting rediculous results. I add a subtle delay and my Fulldrive for a sustain/mid boost. That setup does about 95% of what my overly elaborate larger rig does! So did you decide on the Marshall VM over the Ceriatone 2550? Inquiring minds need to know!
