I've never heard of Bill Nelson before your mention and would like to know which guitar song of his you recommend.

Welcome dukeofc. Bill Nelson, didn't expect to see that name on here. Just goes to show as always....
Like Andre said, Be Bop Deluxe, what a band.....or could have been. My mate persuaded me to go. Dagenham Roundhouse I think, can't remember the year, but it was around the second album. Bill Nelson provided the same jaw on the floor effect Joe B did the first time. He was amazing. He could have been the next great axe god 'cos he could really do it all, and his presentation and singing was, in its way, unique, I thought at the time.
But he didn't want that it seems. They had the commercial success, 'Ships in the Night' wasn't it? and the album sold well but he was always more musician than just a guitar slinger and he went off experimenting with all sorts.
He's produced a massive body of work though over the years, although I've never bought anything. Another case of the 'road not taken' I guess, but I would expect Bill Nelson values his musical integrity more importanly than anything else. Ronnie Montrose did much the same sort of thing. You gotta respect that kind of singlemindedness. To ignore the buck and follow your principles and create what you want and not whats expected.
