Re: Gibson Flying V

The Flying V's are cool, but I don't think it would be an everyday guitar for me... But what should Joe Play next? That could almost be a seperate thread topic... I know what my vote is for- My Brother Ernesto, in the people's republic of California plays one of the Lesters you don't see as much of...   Erno loves it- (an he better not make me feel to guilty about my guitar...pu-lease)  wonder if they have a goldtop? Re: Gibson Flying V

Anybody ever played one?  I think they are a pain.  I owned one a few years back and it played great if you stood up but sitting down you just cant get comfortable with it.

Re: Gibson Flying V

I played a jimi hendrix Gibson V back in the early 90's and it had this handy plastic "hinge" right were you'd normally rest the guitar on your knee. To keep the V from sliding off, you'd just fold out the plastic piece and you have something to rest on your leg while sitting.

It was really cool and I was trying to talk my buddy into buying it. He got a Jackson Randy Rhoads instead. The Gibson would've been worth way more today, especially since Jackson started making cheaper versions of the RR v.
