Yes, he's cut his hair, lost some more weight and transformed himself into a lean, mean, Flying V playing guitar machine. 
Seriously, wait till some clips get posted of Joe actually playing the beast, he's like a kid at Christmas with it, very clearly enjoying every second it's in his hands. Here are a few humble offerings from my ancient camera.

Secondly:
Joe bought his new Flying V in the afternoon, few hours before the show at No1, Hamburg's special guitar store. I was there today and found the guitar linked on the top.
But didn't like the new Just Got Paid Solo on the Flying V - compared with the solo of e.g. FNIP and other versions he played.
Third and Last:
Think his new haircut is toooo short.

I went on ebay and saw the 1958 epi reissue flying v... someone is trying to sell one for $3000. $399 brand new.
