I agree with most of the picks so far. I can't single out one album. I also can't believe no one's mentioned Bob Segar's "Live bullet" or "Nine Tonight". "Trying to live my life witout you" is one of my all time favorite songs.

Sting, Bring on the Night. First tour after the Police with Omar Hakeem on drums, Kenny Kirkland on keyboards, Branford Marsalis sax Daryl Jones bass. This album made the eighties tolerable for me. I didn't know I liked jazz until i heard this.
