"Frampton Comes Alive"  1975/76

Ahead of it's time for sound production of a live gig and captures 'the moment' of that  West Coast Seventies Stadium Rock sound.Pretty well standard issue in any young guy's collection in '76 in the U.K. Anyway it brings back a memory of endless outdoor partys in that red hot Summer.(Flashback to Homer Simpson with flares , aged 21 and full head of hair.)

Rolling Stones Get yer YA-Ya's Out. One of the best live Rock n Roll albums made. Nothing but I IV V blues progressions rocked up Chuck Berry Style. Mick Taylor and Keith Richards. After this era I lost interest in the Stones.

All good recommendations so far. I'd probably add Skynyrd's One more from the road and Deep Purple's Made in Japan. Also, NO live record list would be complete without TOP's Soul Vaccination: Tower of Power Live.

Well Stu, I have to agree with you and guitgator on One More From The Road by Skynyrd, of all their live material that's THE one. Another recent live fave of mine is Bullet In A Bible CD/DVD by Green Day, serious energy.

Those 3 are the best! I'm a huge Stevie fan,but there is no live recordings that "do it" for me. Years ago there were 2 live albums I wore out: The Outlaws Live. Green Grass and High Tides was the song radio DJ's used for bathroom breaks! (23 minutes long.) The first Live Bullet album was pretty good also. When  One More From the Road first came out on cd they left off my favorite song  Travelin' Man...........That @#$%^$ me off after the $17.99!

And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,

Re: Favorite Live Albums???

Just pulled out Steely Dan Alive in America. Dennis Chambers is the man. I was never a big fan early on. Donald Fagan is one weird dude. The liner notes attest to that.

Also Peter Gabriel Secret World Live. Joe has mentioned in the past this is one of his favorites.

These are two live albums I reach for over the studio counterparts.

Re: Favorite Live Albums???

Aerosmith Live Bootleg is pretty good, and has so much more energy than their studio recordings. I'd still put Lizzy's Live and Dangerous at no 1

Eric Clapton Crossroads 2 box set covers all the live clapton I wanna hear, and 24 nights.
