Nice little medley you threw together this morning!  The only point of his career that I wasn't fanatic about was his Power Station daze, but even then, in the midst of some Hollywood producer's mindless coked-out vision of what a music video should be, Robert looked and sounded great.....despite his surroundings.....

I was hooked the first time I heard Sneakin' Sally, and it still remains in the top ten of my favorite tunes.  I have a version around here somewhere of him doin' it with Lowell George on slide.....that one is sweet as sin.....

But I also always admired him as a man.  In a time when t-shirts and jeans were the accepted fashion for performing, he respected his audiences enough to dress like a million bucks on stage.....very classy.....

And it never hurts to cover Little Feat.....

Yeah, SRV..."I have no idea what yer talkin' about, Angela....." I always feel so at home here for a million reasons, your comment is exactly what my kids say to me sometimes too. lol  Robert was a class act and I have to agree with you on 2 counts...he always looked good & the influence of Lowell George/Little Feat on Palmer (and Bonnie Raitt) was just GREAT!  He was my favorite cover man, in a Frank Sinatra sorta' way!

Well, my fellow Feat freak, I only missed this due to having been diverted in recent weeks. big_smile

I always liked Robert...never heard this Spanish Moon before, so thanks for that, Jim. I'm intrigued by that version of Sneakin' with Lowell! Maybe you'd be kind enough to stick that and any other Feat related goodies you might have on a cd that you can give to Cathy? (You're meeting up soon, aren't you)

Anyway, do you remember the time when rumors went around that he was going to join the Feat as singer? I can't quite place when that was - maybe you can help me out?

Hi Jeff,

If I never posted this line, I meant to.  What a song!!  I think you may have heard me down in Florida howling out loud the first time I heard this song on Sirius driving along in my car, I almost went off the road...the lyrics are hysterical...like a cheater has any rights with another woman's husband. lol  Maybe my sense of humor is wharped...its always the ironic things that make me laugh, whether its lyrics or politicians who make a new rule and then make an exception for themselves.  (not going there of course) wink
