Topic: In 6 words or less

I recently woke up with a pinched nerve in my mid-back that took my breath away.  It was connected to my neck in some manner that made me miserable to even turn my head to back my car out of the garage.  So, I made my first trip to the Chiropractor.  As the chiropractor worked on my back, the only thing I could think of was "It Hurts So Good" (John Mellencamp)   In order to occupy my mind in my Current Situation, I began analyzing lyrics. (been hangin' with Jane way too long roll)

I couldn't come up with too many 4 word lyrics from a song, except Born To Be Wild and Eight Days A Week, which both lose a little of the emphasis when taken out of context.
Eight Days  A Week Is Not Enough To Show I Care
Eight Days A Week...I Love You

I did come up with a couple 6 or less words

Drowning In A River of Tears (Clapton)
I've Got You Under My Skin (Sinatra)
Her Mind Is Tiffany Twisted (Eagles)

Like many lyrics, they can have different meanings to different people in different situations.  The Eagles line, my hubby thinks refers to Tiffany the real expensive jeweler and he's probably right since the next line is about driving a Mercedes.  Me, I had never even heard of the jeweler when Hotel California was popular, so I thought it referenced the replicas of the artist Tiffany's complex glass creations. My grandmother use to collect Tiffany lamps and give them for presents, so I always liked them.

There's lots of cool lyrics in the 10 word range.

Dylan-How Many Ears Must One Man Have Before He Can Hear People Cry

You Break Just Like A Little Girl

Cream-Its getting near dawn, When lights close their tired eyes.

I've been waiting so long, To be where I'm going

Eagles-I Was Thinking To Myself This Could Be Heaven Or This Could Be Hell

John Lennon-Life Is What Happens To You While You're Busy Making Other Plans

Mother You Had Me But I Never Had You- Breakfast with the Beatles played lots of Mother related songs yesterday in honor of  Mother's Day.  This song is heart wrenching. I learned that George Harrison's Mom Louise gave him the final line to complete Piggies that he was stumped on...What they need is a damn good whacking. (just so it rhymed with lacking)

Anyone have any good 4 word lyrics or 6 word lyrics that kinda' stand on their own?

Any theories on Tiffany twisted?

In 2 Deep, Over My Head

Bluesman- Dylan has a few...the guy has a way with words, even if its the case of Mumbling Words.  Rolling Stone's recent 40th Anniversary issue was the best issue I've read in a very long time.  Tons of interviews-one from Ringo Starr, I LMAO...he mentioned seeing Dylan, how they are good friends, went back stage during intermission, requested a song and the whole band started laughing, Bob had already played it! lol lol lol I'm still laughing, same experience for me, except I didn't get backstage!

The Answer My Friend is Blowin' in the Wind...if life were only that easy, huh?

Make it Real or Fantasy(Scorpions) - i used to think they were singing "may get rid of his disease"

"i used to think they were singing "may get rid of his disease" "  Funny Jane and I can relate...I can't tell you how many times my teens have corrected me on lyrics I've been singing wrong for over 30 years or have the song title wrong!!!  I tell them to join the debate team at school and stop making fun of me, such johnny know it alls! smile A long time ago, I thought the Stones Start Me Up was Scorpio...actually I guess I couldn't understand Mick so I substituted....now it seems, not even close.

I'm sick in love with you tongue

Shine on you crazy diamond

Over the hills and far away

The song remains the same

I'm gonna' harden my heart,,, by Quarterflash, thought it was Heart for years.

Re: In 6 words or less

I'm still on a Doors high from last night, what a show...briefly met Robbie Krieger (original guitarist) in the parking lot. Brought my LA Woman Album cover, Ray  (original keyboardist) acknowledged it with a thumbs up from the stage.  I danced with it over my head for a few numbers! smile At this point in my life, I love my cheap thrills!  Bluesman- Me and You might just have to start a 7 word category...

Re: In 6 words or less

Jane YES, asked him how his son Waylon was doing...told him I knew of him from Bloodline days and of course, had my Joe Bonamassa tank top on!!!! It was HOT last night!  The crowd did not sit down for one song.  (It was a little dark in the alley, doubt he could read my shirt.  Also, bossier people around me, didn't get a continuous exchange going.  Robbie is very soft spoken, great guitarist...I like all that tapping stuff he does and now understand where some of the Doors musical sounds come from)

Do you believe a guy had the nerve to bring a pile of pick guards to sign...I'm sorry, I think that's a little lame, especially if he's just going to sell them on e-bay.
