Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

The Dark Knight just became the all-time opening weekend gross with 155 million. Spiderman 3 was the previous holder with 151 million. Bring that wussy boat Titanic!

We'll see if it will stand the test of time.

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

Just got back from seeing it (my daughter takes me to the movies, me likes dat)....I dont know if I rate it great, but very good!.....Health gets the "Oscar", he has to...I've always said Christian Bale is WAY underated as an actor...I saw him play some psycho in a movie about 8 years ago that blew me away, I'm talking an academy nomination.....but never even got mentioned for it...if I only could recall that movie...I guess that would be a "question and answer" type thing!

Uh, yeah it will. No doubt. Spectacular reviews across the board. Huge grosses. This film will easily be considered one of the top comic books movies ever, right there with Spider Man 2 and X-Men 2. It may be considered one of the best films ever if it keeps doing what it's doing at the box office. There's just no questioning that.

It may be doing well at the box office but I've already seen the ratings come down in one place from mid 9's to high 8's.

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

And you're going to listen to one? Okay, have it your way. But this will go down as the greatest comic book movie ever.

I'm pretty sure these following articles contain some spoilers, so avoid if you haven't seen the movie:

94% on Rotten Tomatoes:

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_dark_knight/

A- on Yahoo!

http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809271891/critic

A- in Entertainment Weekly:

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20212455,00.html

4 stars by THE MAN himself, Roger Ebert

http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbc … S/55996637

I think it'll be fine. Now, if parents will not take their 5 year olds to the movie and say it's "too dark," then everything will be fine.

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

~SPOILER ALERT~

Loved it, absolutely loved it. I didn't go to the midnight showing but I did manage to get 3 tickets on Fandango for Friday night. Christian Bale's Batman voice got old after awhile, but whatever. Heath was incredible. The fact that the movie caused me pain is evidence of that. Let me explain.

I'm a big guy, standing at 6'2". The movies theater chairs don't give very much leg room so I often end up crossing a leg (makes footsies with the cute yoga partner sitting next to you more fun). Unfortunately I have a bad habit of physically tensing up when the movie gets intense. Long story short when Mr. Ledger had his knife to the various character's mouths, it gave me a cramp in my calf from squeezing too hard. Why so serious? smile

I didn't know that the movie was 2 and a half hours long, so when Harvey became Two Face I expected the climax and The Joker's death to come soon after. I was wrong, and I'm not exactly unhappy with how the story played out, but it was out of a simple want for MORE movies like this!

DUde- this was the best batman yet....  Ledger did JOker in a brand new way - and just psycho!

Re: Something a bit more fun to talk about...THE DARK KNIGHT!

Yeah Ledger really took over the role in a way I never thought possible. He's just ruthless and brilliantly psychotic.

SPOILER

Don't worry, there is a big discussion right now on many Batman web sites on whether or not a certain character is dead or not. And both make pretty convincing arguments.
