He does put on a great show, doesn't he??

I saw him last year at the Pittsburgh Blues Festival, and it was either the 20th anniverary of his being clean and sober, or within days of it.....can't remember which.  But he was in RARE form that night.....

He's playin' O'Malley's in Youngstown on 8/1, then here at Moondog's on 8/3.

I'm thinkin' of doin' both.....I can sleep on Saturday.....

I'll be seeing Walter Friday night!! But, don't skip PBF! "My" band, Nothin But Trouble, gets 1 hr on the main stage before Taj Mahal! Come and root them on and say Hi to me! Cathy

Walter is somethin' else, ain't he??  Both as a man and musician.....he makes me smile every time I hear him play.....

I checked out that link.....nice line up!!  And they picked a great tune to sample Walter with....."Wrapped Around Your Finger" with Guitar Shorty is one of my favorites.....

Seems only right to give this another airing tonight as Cathy and Bob Tarus52 are in Delaware watching Walter in what Cathy describes as 'a small bar' - though I suppose by US standards that could mean anything.

WHAT A GREAT SHOW!! Friday evening, sponsored by the Diamond Stae Blues Society at a relatively small bar..maybe 150 people at most...The show started with Johnny DeFrancesco, a recent vet from the Gulf War. The boy could PLAY! He had a lovely custom Guild and got everyone warmed up for sure!

Next, Walter's 3 sons took the stage. The eldest (16?) on lead guitar, middle(13?) on drums and the youngest (6) on "mic"(which means he kinda sang..too cute). The eldest announced "This is NOT a blues song" and let rip...They were good and I couldn't help but think about the day, in the future, when he goes home excited about some great song he heard, only to be told it's a blues song..lol..

And then came WALTER, if you've seen him, you know what I mean. Full on attack with lots of humor! I gave his son my camera to take pics for me and he did a great job! It's a new camera and the "kids" figured out how to make a movie too! (Show offs!) Bob was with me and will post song titles and specifics. But, all I know is there was no break, no slow down, just a wild ride to the end! And he's another fan friendly guy. Loving the new CD.   Cathy

Greenose, glad to see Walter's going up to your neck of the woods on this tour. I'm hoping to see him (again) in London on the 17th as the last UK date. The first time I saw him a few years ago he was supported by Aynsley Lister (excellent and more on him some other time) then Canned Heat (ok, but Harvey Mandell's playing was so mechanical it was painful), then Walter came on and wow I was, as they say, blown away.

Cathy, I'm looking forward to hearing about the set and how long he played for. Thanks.

What's happened to Joey Pafumi? Does Walter have a new drummer?

I remember watching Joey Pafumi when I saw Walter Trout last year. He was always flicking one of his drum sticks in the air and catching it again. It became quite additive watching him to see if he would drop it. He did eventually - maybe that's why he was fired!
The statement he did leave said "Joey and the Radicals have had an amicable split, realizing creative differences had come between them in recent years"

Michael Leasure looks a powerhouse drummer and seems like he could be good for Walter.
