Re: Liverpool - City of Culture 2008
Hi Folks, I have only just checked out all your amazing reviews from Liverpool. I spent a couple of days with my family, who live just over the other side of the Mersey and only got home last night.
Eva, what a beautifully written two-parter. Like I said to you in the Nelson, your English is very good. Oh and I'm sorry for mentioning THAT faux pas of yours but it was very funny .
It was fantastic to meet so many forum buddies before the show; Nightfly, Steelydad, the guys from London, Lynn and Laurence, Libby and Just John, Eva and Angela, Geoff and Sue and Michael (glad you made it). Oh and Matt who I didn't meet til after the show. Sorry for ruffling your hair!
As for the main event it was brilliant. I wasn't right at the front but Rosie and I were about three people back at the left side of the stage.
The new version of Don't Burn Down That Bridge was really rocking and it was great to hear High Water Everywhere and Heartaches. I took three videos which I haven't uploaded yet of DBDTB, High Water and Just Got Paid which was awesome when Joe came over to our side for the solo.
It was the first time for a friend of ours called Dave and he was totally blown away. He said he hasn't been so impressed since he saw Jimi Hendrix at the Isle of Wight festival back in 1970!
After the show we were hanging around outside waiting to meet Joe and the guys and Carmine came out. He spoke to us for a good ten minutes, he is such a gentleman. Then unfortunately we had to go for our train so didn't get to meet Joe, Rick or Bogie.
Joe, I hope you liked the present.
Eva, I'm very happy you and Angela had such a groovy time in Liverpool.
Lyn and Laurence, you had a very long journey up but it was worth it eh?
Libby and Just John, sorry you had such a nightmare journey home, hope your back is ok Libby.
Thank you Joe, Carmine, Rick and Bogie for a very special gig in Liverpool. Please come again.
Love Tripsy
