Re: Fave Disc Of All Time

A toughie....

BB Kings' Live At The Regal, the Cook County album would be close.

Maybe Texas Flood by SRV.

Then again, either of the first two Roy Buchanan records might do it.

Or Second Winter by Johnny Winter.

Or Dog Party by Scott Henderson.

Hendrix's 'Blues' album maybe?

Damn.....too hard!!

Re: Fave Disc Of All Time

my all time favorite is Zakk Wyldes 'Book of Shadows'.  That disk still floors me.

Re: Fave Disc Of All Time

A recent one that I consider a classic already is Full Circle by Walter Trout. Look at all the outstanding players on it. What a fantastic song Clouds on the Horizon is - featuring The Man, Joe Bonamassa!

Dang G-friend, that's a beauty eh?  Bill Graham used to book them at Fillmore West, unfortunately I didn't catch that one. However that's pretty much how I got introduced to the blues by going to BGP gigs that Bill laced with blues artists. Bill was one of a kind, an absolute genius at what he did, he lead and the rest followed.

Re: Fave Disc Of All Time

All righty then, the CD I was diggin' on last night, for the umpteenth time that brought this on, was Robert Cray's Midnight Stroll. Song for song all killer, no filler. Young Bob was on top of his game right at this point with the Memphis Horns and Tim Kaihatsu filling in on guitar. It's one of those albums that just hits on all cylinders. There is no one favorite song it just works for me from start to finish. In my humble opinion of course. I respect all your choices and would love to hear any others.

i forget the exact quote but i am pretty sure thats the thing Joe says is like the number one blues record, if you have to pick one.

i think it could very well be...

B.B. in his prime...what more could you ask for?

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Edited to add: Just realized that you said "Alone and acoustic" and that I thought you said "Play the Blues" - but they´re both great records, because these two are one great Blues-duo smile
