Re: Why No Chicago-Area Shows??

Yeah, the last time I saw Joe at Chord On Blues (last October) there was a much smaller turnout than when I had seen him there last July... Plus, the sound wasn't so great, so maybe one of those reasons may be why he hasn't gone back there? Which is fine with me, to get a decent seat there, you have to have reservations for dinner and a show- well, their food isn't that great, and the service is slooooooowwww.

The first time I saw Joe at Chord on Blues, we made dinner reservations early so we'd have choice seats (they advertise that making dinner reservations ensures you those seats for the show). About 10 minutes before Joe comes on, people start milling around the stage and when the show starts there's about 40 or 50 people (most of who came late and didn't have dinner) lining the front of the stage.
Totally blocked the view, unless you stood up...Joe was great, but it really sucked not being able to see. The next couple of shows I just showed up an hour or so before the show, paid the cover and stood up front, which was great.
Just a warning if Joe plays there again...dinner reservations don't get you anything special, except dinner!

Firin Frank...it looks like you got your wish! Joe's playing at Joe's (Sports Bar) on December 8th. Joe's Sports Bar is a 10 minute drive from downtown Chicago.

Gary...if Crystal Lake is in your back yard, downtown Chicago is just outside your backyard. 1 hour & 15 minute drive in moderate traffic.
Let's fill the Chicago show to ensure more in the future!

Re: Why No Chicago-Area Shows??

Thanks everyone, that's awesome! My brother and his buddies will be stoked! And yes, I'll make the 3 hour drive to see Joe. I called him yesterday and he was cooking some BBQ and had Joe B cranked.  Great minds think alike!

And Joe B, if you are reading this thank you so much for everything! I have a *very* special offer for you, the band & road crew the next time you come to Indy. E-mail me for details. Privacy guaranteed. It's just a thank you for all your music and brutal touring schedule.
