Topic: Hallo
Hallo,
some of you might know my daughter Eva. In fact we share a common liking of Joe´s music and Blues music in general. My own interest in Blues goes back nearly 50 years when I discovered -initiated by listening to Elvis Presley - Blues represented by Ray Charles, BB King etc., specialising later to be a dedicated fan of John Lee Hooker and Van Morrison. I think Eva was telling you that I socialized her in this kind of music (without planning it) in her early childhood.
We met Joe and his music 2-3 years ago in Roth near Nürnberg. Appreciating him as a brilliant guitar player taking us to a parce de force ride through the world of blues riffs, we were impressed, but not really touched. Significant that I don´t remember if Joe was playing with a band or alone. Half a year later and then some weeks ago in Munich it was much different. Joe´s brilliance was the same or even more but he was embedded in a very subtle network of musical interaction. Not a big ego performing but a group of men harmonizing in a most astonishing way. The Chinese would call it wu wei, doing nothing which means doings things (seemingly)without effort, like things have to be done naturally. I liked these concerts very much being impressed and touched.
