Sorry I didn't post last night, but I was so overwhelmed and full..I just couldn't put it in words! I left for the venue very early because I have city traffic issues..But..everything fell into place..parking was easy, walked to the venue with a bag of tea, (THANK YOU GEORGE), cookies, a stack of printed posts from here, a JB Sticker (Thanks M.P.), and a local paper with a write up...Just as I got there a large van pulled up and out came the band. So I said "Welcome to Baltimore from the Bonamassa Family" and gave them the goodies. They were very excited about getting "proper" tea and all boys love cookies! They were so gracious and "normal". I know it's been said often, but they do appreciate the boost from J.B. fans. Met with Carl & his lady, Bob(Thanks for all the CD's), Jane, Roy (Thanks so much for the CD) and made it 1st in line. We saw the boys again outside and after they left people who didn't know them were floored that those young kids were the band!! I headed to front row center balconey, because in this tiny venue you are only feet away, and I wanted to see and hear clearly! I've spent a few New Years Eve's at a bar called Full Moon Blues (now closed) and Old Man Brown was the band, so I knew I liked them. They have really matured in the few years since I last saw them..great set and reception from the crowd. Then came Davy and Co...the crowd didn't need to warm up they were into it from note 1. I didn't even try to write a set list..I figured I'd get it from Carl's tape or his memory as it far exceeds mine. But it was full out, diverse and spellbinding. It was like seeing "Joe, The Next Generation". I can't say enough about Davy. He is exceptional. It was another of those slack jaw exhibitions..I couldn't take my eyes off his hands. He plays like many greats..the guitar is a part of him, body and soul. The crowd erupted for "Come Home" and I really smiled at how many sang along. After 1 encore some people left, but many hung around and of coure the band was gracious. I know I will NEVER be able to see them in such a tiny venue again, so I soaked it all in. If you don't get out and see them, you will kick yourself in the tail forever!! Are they the real deal! Absolutely!!! Is Davy special..yes, yes, yes!!! I told him he was a big part of the future of Blues/Rock, and not to change...I have such hope! As Jane said, it was nice to have lots of folks who already knew Joe and it was easy to get those that didn't to want to! Nice mix of ages this time..My group of 20' & 30's were blown away! My only complaint, and the one I voice often, was drunks! It just turns me off! After the show there was that type of loud, fawning that makes me cringe..but..I'm old! I'll post the things we Bona fans need to take for them..for now, I'm still in awe! Cathy
