I'm not laughing at all. Their stuff was mostly covers though, so I guess technically Joe wouldn't be covering 3 Dog Night...but they made some great music.  Can you imagine Joe's interpretation of "Try a little tenderness" ??? Yowza!

If he were to do a SRV song, I'd vote for Tightrope/Crossfire or even Hendrix/Vaughan's Voodoo Chile (Slight Return).  But every young blues guitarist these days seems to get compared to SRV and I don't think it is fair at all.  To them or to Stevie.  I think doing an SRV song would only further cement that comparison in people's minds, and I don't really want to see that, so I'd understand if he didn't want to do one of those.  I wouldn't blame him.

at fisrt when i saw the Sambora suggestion, i thought, you gotta be kidding me, after all that time spent putting Bonamassa cds in front of Bon Jovi, all the will power it took for me to not put the have a nice day cover as my avatar for fear of 'I'm not sure' but somethign told me it wasn't a good idea...
anyway the video linked is truly better with my eyes closed, i am suprised at how i think it could work for alot of ways, its bluesy and rock, about youth, and like Phil said Joe could make it his own and do killer things with it. i'm not voting for it but if it happens i'm going to have Phil pick some lucky numbers for me. anyway good suggestions

and because i haven't said it in a while, I'd like to hear Joe do Green Manalishi, private concert, one time thing, or a recording/single

oh and since it hasn't been said on this page, everyone agrees Joe originals are the best but since he does do covers we like to come up with requests/suggestions for fun if nothing else, never meant as disrespect

Just so you know, got no inside info on that one at all. I "re" heard that song and it got me to thinking about this thread, so I threw it up just to see what the reaction would be, if any.

And yes, you are correct.....Joe originals are the cat's pajamas. Although we do love it when he sticks at least a few notes of other artists stuff in his songs for live performance.

ugh - cmon! why don't you just say "Little Wing" or Pearl Jam! I can admit the recommendations I had would never happen.

Let's come up with some obscure songs that could prove useful! Some B-sides from (possibly) good artists that everyone doesn't know of already...or may have been popular for a short amount of time but then forgotten.
