Re: So who's seen Joe live?

I would do most anything for a time travel trip back to a few late 60s early 70s PF shows.
Two dollars sounds great, I paid close to $500 for my son and I to see David Gilmour &
Rick Wright in 2006 in Toronto!  Not counting travel, food, hotel & BEER!  However, that show
ranks about third on my list of great concerts, it included an awesome version of Echoes.

Those were the days,

Crap, that's another buck to Azrael!

that came out all wrong, sounds cold.  was meant to show concern that we ran him (?) off.
Gender is unimportant, in this case.  I probably should have asked nicer.

Sorry
Jeff

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

Azrael,

Where else are you going to find the coolest bunch of people who feel your pain about the financial realities of life. The motto here is people caring and taking care of people! I found Joe when he backed up Greg Allman in New Hampshire where I live. I have seen him live 5 times now and I am blown away every time. His shows are intense and almost spritual. I have turned many folks on to Joe including my son who can't wait for his first Joe show. No one will mislead you here. The gift is there you won't regret it and remember the old saying. " To keep what you have you have to give it away" By the way i have one word for Joe

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

I saw him in New York in October at BB King's in times square.  What a show! I sure wish I had known that he comes out after about 30 minutes to greet folks.  The crowd was great! Everything that night was great!

lol That about made me choke!

I only became aware of Joe Bonamassa less than a year ago, but I've seen 2 shows already, and I'm very eagerly looking forward to his return to my area.  He's the kind of musician you feel compelled to turn other people onto, because he's really something special and you know he'll just knock their socks off.

A friend of mine had turned me onto Joe last spring, so when I noticed last August he was playing just 15 minutes from me at the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg PA, I figured I'd check him out... I went alone, but immediately regretted not dragging all my friends along, and especially my teenage guitarist son.  So then in November when he played 2 hours northeast of me at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe PA, I made the haul with my son, and we met up with another young friend of mine up there, plus her father... all 3 newbies were of course blown away and became instant Joe fans.

Incidentally, after all this talk of Pink Floyd, I thought I'd mention... the guy who originally turned me onto Joe is one of my fellow Machine fans.  For those who may not know, The Machine is a long-standing Pink Floyd tribute band... the best there is, as a matter of fact... no Floyd fan should ever miss a chance to see them!  I don't mean to spam, but it seems there are a lot of Floyd fans here (makes sense, as Floyd fans always recognize good music when they hear it!), and I feel compelled to spread The Machine addiction.  If anyone is interested, you can check their tour schedule and sample their music here:

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

I saw The Machine here in B'ville on Paper Mill island amphitheater a few years ago.  They were quite good, part of their show inlcuded a showing of the Wizard of Oz while they played Dark Side of the Moon in sync with the movie. That was a pretty different concert experience!

The trick is to start the CD at the 3rd roar of the MGM lion.
