Topic: So who's seen Joe live?

I'm really gettin' into his work - it's really fun stuff. Just been gettin' into a lot blues lately, I guess...listening to old Johnny Winter, Gov't Mule, Allman Bros - all that good stuff.

I'd love to see him live, and just drool at all his boutique gear. Totally jealous of it all.
I wonder when he's coming down to San Diego...

So who here has seen him, and how was it?

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

I'm guessing there's only a few here who haven't seen Joe..Go to Show reviews and have a good read.  Also, he's in South Cali the end of NEXT WEEK..check tour dates..get a ticket and go!! There will be some Bonamaniacs there and it will be a wild time! If you miss it you will be whining for some time!!!!   Cathy

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

Yes I have seen Joe LIVE.
And How was it?  Just when you think it can't get any better, it always does.  In my book,
Joe is the best, handsdown, without a shade of doubt LIVE show going!

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

I was in total awe when I was first Bonabaptized  at a live Joe concert!
I was amazed that his live show was so different than the studio work
that I had been listening to in preparation for the concert.  He plays
many of his studio songs live, but there is so much more to them live!

If you have the opportunity, GO!  end of debate.

Jim
I believe my personal Joe concert count is 4 times and growing every chance I get!

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

Closest he's getting is San Juan Capistrano...:(

So I'll have wait until next time, I suppose. Does he ahve a newsletter that'll keep me posted, maybe?

Bonabaptized, hahaha.

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

Grumble grumble...What's all this fuss about?  Some kid who thinks he can play blues?  BLASPHEMY!

New guy AZ.  I was wrong.  read here http://bigjeffjones.wordpress.com/2007/ … ick-bogie/  It's on this forum somewhere, too.

I'm feeling it and i've been numb a long time.  You will too.

BY THE WAY

It's an hours drive more or less straight up the 5 to the gig!  Go if you can.  You will not be the same after it.  I drove 3 hours plus to see him in W Palm Beach.  It was worth it.

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

Azreal, Please consider going to the show..It will be a LONG time, by all accounts, until he's "near" you. In fact, many here think nothing of boarding a plane or driving 8 hrs to see him....So, get your own Bonabaptism over with so you understand our addiction...Come on..Man up!!!!!  Again, You will regret missing the show..Can I get an amen?!      Cathy

Jeff's right - it's almost in your backyard!  We're flying in from Wisconsin.  Bringing my
cousin who has never seen Joe either.  Just do it !

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

We are driving an hour to the airport, an hour flight to OKC (meeting friends), another 2.5 hour flight and then off to the show; and we've seen him from Philly to San Diego and points in between. Sounds crazy until you realize there are dozens more that do the same thing........regularly.

Certainly you can drive North a bit to see your first live show!!

It'll be worth the effort.

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

C'mon Az, S.D. to San Juan, The show will be over by 10-10:30, you'll be home before midnight. I've seen Joe 8 times and only once did I only have to drive an hour to get there. Hell Shred and I are driving down from the Bay Area, we might have to deal with valley fog and snow on the grapevine, but it's worth it. The show's at the Coach House, check it out online for tix. See ya' there. Welcome aboard!!!

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

The peer pressure is on really hot and heavy!  You need to go for sure, the only regret you will have is that you have not seen him before this!   We have traveled far and wide over the years to see Joe play and never have been disappointed!

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

Hahaha. You guys REALLY want me to go. Trust me, maybe if some things were different, I might consider it. However, I've ran into some car-related financial trouble lately, so driving around that far isn't that great of an idea, nor is it easy on my wallet.
I'm still trying to scrounge around the extra cash I need to finish my speaker cabinet for my guitar, haha. So that comes first.

I'll just have to wait, I guess.

But - Like I said before, does Joe have a newsletter or anything like that, to keep me updated?

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

Azrael, welcome to Joe's site. Gotta say though, that was a bit of a dumb question you asked  considering where it was aimed. wink Still, no harm done so........Go and see Joe and let us know what you think.....you'll have a great time!

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

Haha. I did figure most of you had seen him.

This was mostly to ascertain if he was as good as he seems at his live shows in the videos I've seen.

And to figure out about the existence of a newsletter or something...

Joe's tour page is it at the top of this website.  And you will never find a better source of information then this forum!  Everyone on here is an absolute Joe fan and friend!

He is the best live show I've ever seen.  Went to 8 shows in '07 alone..........have been addicted to seeing him live for almost 5 years.

My co worker had to practically drag me to the very first show years ago.  I thought he was way 'over the top' on this Joe guy he always raved about.

Well..............that is who I am now!  I go to every live show I can, and drag anybody willing to stop and listen to me to the shows, if I can't get anyone willing to go, I go by myself!

Find a couple friends, chip in for gas, if it's an hour away, that's not too much for something that will leave a lasting impression.

Re: So who's seen Joe live?

He's okay live. lol
