Hell Shred and I are driving down from the Bay Area, we might have to deal with valley fog and snow on the grapevine, but it's worth it. The show's at the Coach House, check it out online for tix. See ya' there. Welcome aboard!!!

Quoting J D, "Hell Shred and I are driving down from the Bay Area, we might have to deal with valley fog and snow on the grapevine, but it's worth it."
Plus J D, it's uphill both ways, there's locusts everywhere and mountain lions ready to go for your jugular, right? But these hardened boys to the North are making the Big Drive. Why? Not only to see the Greatest Guitarist/Singer on the Planet, but because they are a Man's Man. A tribute to Machoism. Dual winners of California Man OF The Year and all around nice fellows. So as Big Jeff said, "Man Up" and get in that car and make that drive. Hey, we may even let you sit with us. Well maybe.

Roy, when it comes to attacks of the jugular I lean into it with my left side since I no longer have a jugular on that side. The moral to this story is, if you're gonna get in a knife fight, make sure it's with your surgeon!!!!

Saw him live for the first time a few years ago. I remember getting goose bumps by the second song and I get them everytime I see him now! I 've seen him live quite a few times since then and it just keeps getting better and better. I am always looking forward the next show!!
He's okay live.
Deeeeeeeeezer, yeah he's ok. Poor guy didn't know what fanatacism was till he got here.

Chiming in on Joe B, you need to go see him Azrael. Well worth the travel, have seen Joe from Missouri down to Texas with Oklahoma in between. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Eh, JB is nothing special live.
And by "nothing special" I mean "the best guitar player I've ever seen".
His shows are really special. What's amazing about JB is that at least for now you can still catch this act in really small, intimate settings. I don't know what the shelf life is on these things, but Azrael - if you get a chance to see him in a bar or something suck it up and do it.
It's an amazing experience and I still can't figure out why he's not playing huge venues.
Not that I WANT him to, but I've seen him a few times in small places and it's just WORTH IT.
Early in this topic, I described my first Joe concert as my Bonabaptism.
Azrael replied with a hahaha in reference to Bonabaptism.
I have been going to concerts since 1973, possibly longer than some
here have been alive. I have seen many of the classic rock and blues
greats, the only concert that I would rate higher than a Joe concert,
is when I saw Pink Floyd in 1977!
BTW I didn't invent the term Bonabaptised for my post here. It has been used
by many Bonamassa fans for quite some time. Why you ask? Because
seeing Joe live is an awaking compared to most live shows! Period!
Take the bus, talk a friend into driving, start early and walk!
What ever it takes, if you enjoy his studio work and videos, you need to GO!
I'm not going to beg you anymore. You will have to deal with your conscious.
Hahaha. You guys REALLY want me to go. Trust me, maybe if some things were different, I might consider it. However, I've ran into some car-related financial trouble lately, so driving around that far isn't that great of an idea, nor is it easy on my wallet.
I'm still trying to scrounge around the extra cash I need to finish my speaker cabinet for my guitar, haha. So that comes first.I'll just have to wait, I guess.
But - Like I said before, does Joe have a newsletter or anything like that, to keep me updated?
From the tone of this post, you're broke. That's a doggone shame. Sorry. Been there.
All the best,
Jeff
Hallo Roy,
I'm 54 too and I totallly agree with you. For me the same feeling.

I think we should all chip in so Azrael can go to the show. The tickets are $20, everyone that posted give a $1, if you posted twice $2...leftover $$ goes to transportation or someone offer to pick him up along the way. Did anyone buy an extra ticket?
has anyone on the message board NOT seen Joe?????
Angela..Great minds think alike..I'm in for $5..Azrael..E-mail your address and make plans to go! It's THAT important...Strike while the irons hot! Cathy
Azrael, Buy the ticket, I'm good for any difference...:)

yeah, seen him live several times. nothing i can say that hasnt already been said lately. albums are great, shows are better and are priceless experiences every one of them that can be bought for 30 bucks and a little drive. a bargain
Hey Roy,
Yes, I grew up south of KC and was a KU student before I got transplanted to NY to work for Generous Electric in Syracuse. Yes indeed, seeing Pink Floyd (while Roger was still intact) will stay with me forever! The 77 set list was basically doing their discography in reverse order: Animals, WYWH, DSotM and then a few from ObC & Meddle. It was awesome! Don’t get me wrong, Joe comes very close to that experience. I would guess that the 70s also had something to do with the experience, along with the Quad sound in the arena and oh don’t forget the inflatable pig overhead with lasers in it’s eyes!
another old poot,
Jim
P.S. How do we collect all these dollar bills for Azrael?
I think I owe three now.
From the caves of my brain..early 70's, Lyric OPERA House, (very neoclassical hall), and small...They had an airplane that came down from the balconey and a huge ball everyone bounced around....the rest is fuzzy! Very Trippy show! Cathy
