I got the Tiny Terror and it's a pretty accurate name. The 15W setting gives you plenty of loudness for small rooms, which is where I find myself most of the time. Actually I'll probably use the 7W setting most often because you can run the volume at least halfway and the gain about one notch over half and get a really nice blusey crunch with a Strat with standard pickups and plexi-ish overdrive with humbuckers or P-90s in my case. In fact, the P-90s at that setting yield an early Leslie West, Free (think All Right Now) sort of rich, harmonic laden overdrive with lots of fundamental so chords have a nice clarity but still have those ringing overtones that make you smile all over. I'm also finding that my Keeley modded DS-1 with the gain set farily low boosts it nicely for leads and adds just a touch of thickness without sacrificing touch dynamics.
I know there are lots of better amps out there, particularly if you're willing to second mortgage the house. But for this poor preacher for $575 used including an Orange 1x12 with a vintage Celestion, it's a heck of a package.
BTW, I'm going to run it along with my 4x10 Hot Rod DeVille. I'm looking at either a Whirlwind or Morely ABY to switch them. Any thoughts? I'd love to get a Lehle like Joe has, but they're anywhere from $200 to $450 depending on the model.
Blessings,
Larry
