Recently been re-connecting with the music from an old hero, the sadly late Bernie Torme. From the Blackheart album:-
Pain Song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qCw_who3r0
Dirt - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_JwH9C6870
& one from the haydays with Gillan - Mr Universe:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI-po_zD1gs
Just picked up on this guy - Ian Moore, thanks to my good buddy in Indy. This guy has been around a while, but don’t know where he’s been hiding. surprisingly low-key on the forum. Best description I’ve seen - “His voice is silk; his playing is rapid-fire badass…”
See what you make of this selection:-

One of my fav groups until they took an ill fated turn after this release and tour. I did get to see them on this tour in support of Duke, with Daryl Stuermer on additional guitar and Chester Thompson on drums. What a setlist, and what a great recording job they did on it !!!

Last night, enjoyed blasting out another of Bernie Torme’s latter solo albums (well, more like POWER trio albums) - Flowers & Dirt..
Vocally, he’s somewhere between Rory Gallagher & Shane McGowan; but the guitar style is almost feral with flashes of brilliance; again, Rory is in the mix, but with Jimi overtones. One track almost deconstructs La Grange while there’s very much Celtic influences to the fore, but it’s the way Torme controls feedback….

I've been listening to Kansas' new album "The Absence of Presence" and it's really, really good.

Wow, this came out in July and I heard absolutely nothing about it, not a peep from anyone until now. Thanks for the heads up, I do like the title track and will go ahead and buy it ASAP

To be honest, it only came on my radar due to a recent Eddie Trunk podcast interview with Richard Williams.

Upcoming new band from Austin, TX - White Dog; debut album out on Friday 25th... Just me or are those "guitarmonies" old school Wishbone Ash?
Devils Highway from Savoy Brown's great new album Ain't Done Yet.
listening to all of it now, sounds real good to me, Kim still has it going at 72 .......... and his middle name is Maiden ??? who knew
Is it just me or does some of it sound a lot like JJ Cale ?

ran into this whilst listening to the new Savoy Brown, I enjoyed seeing them on the Broken Barricades tour way back when, early 70s I think. This would be the one and only time I was able to see Robin Trower
Not sure but think I need more cowbell
