Tom Misch & Yussef Dayes - What Kinda Music (2020)
Not as "innocent" as Tom's debut album, Geography; combining with the percussive inventiveness of Yussef, this is an album of sophisticated Jazz Fusion, but rather than the 1970's collision with Rock, this is more contemporary House/Ambiance. A very different beast, but a good beast.

Fully agree with your take on the new album. Definitely Jazz Fusion, but very modern compared to the 70's eruption. I almost think Yussef dominates the sound on this and the charm of Geography is missing this time around.

Saw the original band seven times in all. The word awesome is somewhat overused but not in this case. The best time, Sheffield University students union. Low ceiling longest bar and loud. Kossoff was amazing when in action.

Thanks for the heads up. Paul Rodgers is my favorite rock singer.

Have not thought about this guy in a while but listened to some last night, one of the best behind SRV to come out of Texas ...................... he can get a little funky at times, I like the slower blues numbers. Number 3 did not work for some reason, C Butt Rock is worth a listen too

I've been a fan since the late 70's with his first album, I'm A Man. Not surprisingly he's still making great music and hasn't lost his great singing ability. My current wife loves him too even though she originally thought he was Christopher Cross. Seeing him is on my short bucket list.
After my first wife passed away and I started dating again I used to play his song "Be My Number Two" quite a bit to get me through those dark days. I thank God I've been blessed with love again and I rarely play that great song now.
