Thank you for posting this guys!. That"s why I like this forum. After listening for a few of his songs I went and followed him on social media. I almost never do that. Instant musical match for me. Thank you again for another musical discovery. Will keep an eye (and ear) on his music.

The 40th Anniversary Box set release of Jethro Tull's Stormwatch (Force 10 Edition)

Once again, Steven Wilson has done a peerless job in cleaning and tweaking this overlooked gem. Heck, even the disc of outtakes makes a credible album on it's own. A deep listen shows Martin Barre on superb form.

Phantom, Rocker & Slick - S/T 1985 / 2011

Phew! 1985! Talk about your “Flashbacks”. Truth is, back then, the rock world was a different sort of beast; Bon Jovi were out for world domination, Motley Crue were the anti-christs, Aerosmith were waking from slumber and the rise of Guns ‘n’ Roses was hotly anticipated; who cared about a spin-off band from rockabillie rebels The Stray Cats?
Well, a few did, even though on paper, Slim Jim and Lee Rocker, teaming up with guitar-slinger for hire Earl Slick, fresh from another stint with Bowie, this time taking over from Stevie Ray Vaughn on the Serious Midinight tour, looked improbable on paper. Slicky now to take over the reins/strings from Brian Setzer? No, the short answer. Slim Jim & Lee Rocker never imagined this to be a “Stray Cats MkII”, but more a vehicle for songs they’d written more contemporary and away from their cool but retro ouvre, and Slicky was the available guitarslinger to add life and soul; 10 years on and off playing along side Bowie and others showed he had the versatility to handle almost anything and the energy coming from this collaboration is crackling. Three tracks instantly stand apart; What You Want; My Mistake (Keith Richards guesting) and Men Without Shame. Phantom & Rocker by this time are a forceful, telepathic rhythm section though if there’s a downside, Rocker is an adequate, not great singer.
The album was a moderate success and was toured in the US on a support slot to Heart, but the band wasn’t to be long-lived enough to build further. By 1986, Setzer wanted Stray Cats back together - the 3 being High School friends, it was a call hard not to answer. A second PR&S album was recorded, but was rushed and the original producer not available…
In 2011, Rock Candy cleaned up and re-issued the 1st PR&S and and after quarter of a century, the little bugger still kicks; one or two places it does remind me of the Duranies “Powerstation” with some of the chops and rhythm patterns (chickens and eggs Mr A Taylor?) but for all that, it’s an undiscovered treasure as it’s three guys doing what they want and bucking the trend by not having any trend,

Re: What song are you listening to right now?

A friend has been trying to twist my arm to go see this guy locally at the week-end. Artist's name is Jesse Terry, Nashville based but not sure of his origin; seems to like this part of the world, Northumbria especially as several of his videos are shot in the region and it's castles and stately homes.

Think there are 5 albums to his name; Natural; Stargazer; Empty Seat On A Plane; Stay Here With Me; The Runner + an EP, The Calm & The Storm. Natural  features some of the female singers he most admires, among them Dar Williams, Cary Ann Hearst of Shovels & Rope, Liz Longley, Annie Clements, Erin Rae, Sarah Darling, and Kim Richey.

Overall, I think Jesse has a "George Harrison" vibe, especially vocally: good but not setting my ears alight but I thought I'd pass on to the Forum, just in case.
Stargazer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydOal9N6jw4  (Shot at Bamburgh Castle)
kaleidoscope - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGW9irhdZUQ  (Shot in Northumberland)
Noise - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGW9irhdZUQ  (Bluebird Cafe; Nashville)

Eddie Martin - Thirst (2019)
Really, really enjoying Eddie’s latest platter here. First cuple of tracks have a lazy, buzz-sawin’ raw feel going on; more like a front porch jam than a recording session going on; Free Man Blues, classic lazy slide. Plenty of variation as Eddie hits the wah-wah here and there, backed by some rich hammond from Jonny Henderson. Run River Run has a great surf-twangy boogie to lift us after the tour-de-force Like Water. Leaving the aquatic motif for moment, Imagine Us From the Sky offers what could be an interesting perspective but isn’t quite realised lyrically. that said, musically this album just sounds like Eddie is doing what he does best, and having a ball at the same time. It’s raw but it’s fun.

Dan Owen - Stay Awake With Me (2018)

Dan has a couple of very tasty {downloadable] EPs under his belt, but this is his debut [full] album which sneaked out last summer. And “sneaked” is the operative term here because the sheer quality and richness of Dan’s voice should have had him packing City Halls, if not arenas like your Ezras or Capaldis before now. Even in his mid-20s Dan has the face of a choirboy but he has a voice that sounds like it’s been marinated in oak vats for at least 20 of those years.
The other thing that stands out on this album is that in comparison to Dan’s solo guitar & harp performances the production here by comparison seems to throw everything but the kitchen sink in, but rather than beat down or battle Dan’s vocals, it brings out a Gospel/Soul edge that enhances the maturity of his performance: one of those once-in-a-generation voices. That just tops the quality of the self-penned titles on this album, Hideaway has already been used in adverts by a large UK chain of Chemists and Made To Love You has had YouTube score like telephone numbers.
