Topic: Joe joins up with Eric Gales

Joe’s going to produce a new release for Eric Gales, then tour with him in ‘20.
Woo hoo! I just got a big dose of Gales here 2 weeks ago and he tore it up.

I freaking love Eric Gales, so I'm excited about this for sure.

Re: Joe joins up with Eric Gales

I dreamed of this years ago when Joe was very popular and selling out a lot of venues, while Eric was still playing clubs and small halls. I heard the news and am not suprised, that John Henry they did together live on the boat was magnificent and seems they were made for each other. Can't wait for the CD and then the tour, no way I can miss one of those shows

I’m committed to whatever it takes to see this too. Joe says Eric’s the best and vice versa. I and the wife had super vip front row at the bluesfest here. I was wearing a vintage EG tee and he gave me a smile, came down off the stage, stood 3 feet from us and went off on a 5 minute solo with me standing there living the dream. The wife got it all on vid. After, he signed the tee for the 3rd time. Yeah, I’m a big fan because you gave me the heads up 6 years ago. Thanks Tres!

Is this the album Larkin Poe will play on per Eric?

Re: Joe joins up with Eric Gales

This is very cool. I have been a big fan of EG since his first Gales Brothers cd.
Good question on Eric’s part in the tour
Could be the act before Joe  or just him joining the  band
If I had my choice I would rather be two Separate bands and Eric joining Joe for a song or two.

That's what I was hoping for. When was the last time Joe had an opening act. None that I've ever seen.  Don't mind EG playing a song with Joe and his band, but when I go to see Joe, I WANT TO SEE JOE.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

Re: Joe joins up with Eric Gales

Eric is not necessarily an opening act. Assuming its to promote Eric's new album Joe might sit in or be part of the band. Lot of unknowns at the moment.

Re: Joe joins up with Eric Gales

actually I think it was about 9 or 10 years ago when son and I were making regular trips to hang out with him in Memphis. I bet you remember some of those trip blogs I posted here about our adventures, but they were deleted by some of the computer crashes that happened, am so sorry they were lost. One of the best was the first time we ever met him, at the FedX Forum for a Grizzlies game where he was doing the national anthem to open. First his regular amp died so he had to bring another one, and it was a beast. We barely were able to get it out on the floor. Then during the anthem he got a little carried away and accidentally pulled the cable out. No worries, he reached around and plugged it back in and hardly missed a beat. Those were some fun times, really miss him but have seen him 3 times in the last half year. This is going to be a great tour !!!
