Re: Forum Update, Bugs, Spam and Requests

I have to agree with DougH.
Not sure where we go from here.

Re: Forum Update, Bugs, Spam and Requests

unfortunately it won't help the forum get back people.

although most forums allow you to embed pictures into the text area.. not a hyper link going out to another web site for you to click and go else were on the web.
and a host of other features.

take a look at this forum, it's on a 'new' style of modern forums.. https://www.guitargathering.com/community/

it has main posting areas for people to leave posts, with pictures and videos embedded and a live chat window to the bottom right for those that are currently online.
posts. videos, tons of options
if  little almost unknown Guitar Instructor that lives in Nashville can do this for his students, then what could J&R do?

(p.s the instructor does a "Live Lessons" broadcast from fabled Gruhn's Guitar's in Nashville most Tues nights at 7cst, they range from guitar lessons to turning into an interview show at times, ,, now that Joe lives there 'part time' ; it'd be great to get Joe into Gruhn's for one of these Live broadcasts sometime during his 'off season' when he's just hanging in Nashville jamming in bars like he's done last year)

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)

Re: Forum Update, Bugs, Spam and Requests

Yes, unfortunately this forum is rapidly slowing down lol. I am trying my best to contribute here and post most up to date and interesting information, but getting discouraged lately by lack of interest or the opposite: suspicions that I know too much ( although I post only 100% public information or even better - repost Joe's IG or Twitter posts ). For example: Joe got reunited with Spot for a song in Paris. Here is a video of it that I haven't seen posted anywhere on public fan pages. To me  it is a significant event  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2znLiVrC94k.

Re: Forum Update, Bugs, Spam and Requests

Good to know there are still a few of us "die hards" remaining; dinosaurs who haven't succumbed to the siren lure of social media.

On one hand, its good to see that there are still people signing up to the forum, but while it's handy having contacts with tow-truck companies, drug rehabilitation clinics, DUI specialist defence lawyers and folk who'll write dissertation essays for you, you can't really discuss the joys for finding new and old bands and how best to tune a bouzouki....

Still, I'll be here until it closes down, or somebody invents something better than the Internet.

When life gives you lemons; don't make lemonade.
Give back the lemons.  Why were the lemons free?  What's wrong with the lemons?
Do Not trust the lemons...
