Honest and constructive opinions are fine and every artist should take
them into consideration as I'm sure Joe does.
But..... don't you attack my friend Roy - we just spent 5 days
with him and you couldn't meet a nicer guy - we had the time of our
lives taking in all the Joe shows. Artists should have a sense of humor
and enjoy their fans even those of us "with blinders on" and all the
corny things we do I hope Joe has fun with every minute of his stardom.

Jaci, Backroad was at the Milwaukee show and chimed in on the Show Reviews and Setlists topic Pitman Theatre Milwaukee 11/3/07, agreeing with Reverend Paul about something lacking. These honest opinions are indeed welcome, but to call someone a "Joe can do no wrong" fan is not really fair. I honestly respect people who want this or that, but hey, these discussions have been going on for YEARS now about Joe should be / shouldn't be playing here, shouldn't this, management should this, why doesn't his manager...it's all out there, so again get in here and bring it. But as surely as someone is allowed to find disappointment(s), large or small, some, myself definitely included, really have a difficult time ALLOWING ourselves major disappointments, let alone overlooking, perhaps never mentioning, mentioning with guarded words, or plain ignoring what we "think", and just stick with the "feel". The reason we are such a vocally vociferous bunch "in here" and "out there" (including the professionals on several fronts) is, speaking unabashedly for many, (to the Beatles tune "I Feel Fine") "we're in love with Joe and we feel fine". and I can add we're in love with Joe, among OTHER people, places & things, AND we feel fine, generally, about a lot of things...about ourselves and yet not just ourselves...I don't know if I spoke entirely well just then, but I think it's somewhat of a consensus...
When Rev P reviews the Milwaukee concert and comments "but this seemed like a show for the Joe can do no wrong fans not the kind that will win over new fans", I have to take severe umbrage to that, not because I find it offensive, because it's not, it's just is opinion. But because it is just not backed up by the facts of more people than ever are buying Joe's music, attending his concerts, applauding his performances, voting him awards, visiting his website, joining his forum, talking about him, putting money in his pocket, and most importantly, excitedly telling someone else about him. TGIF, those facts are Joe Friday checked. A many, many blues moons post ago probably only I recall as I was the one who wrote it was, if Joe Bonamassa made a children's recording with just an acoustic guitar, I would buy it. I not only stand by that, I look forward to it! A World Music recording? I look forward to it! If he wants to hybridize a world music with free form fusion recording (sort of Bill Laswell's Tabla Beat Science), hey why not? I agree with Phil Cornell (not a man of many words, unlike some) the future looks bright to me ...and Stu Craig likely speaks for many more than I when he says when I quit fighting with myself, I am able to connect on an EMOTIONAL level with Joe's music.
I gave my sons and nephews advice on women, and said, quote "if your woman thinks you are wrong, guess what? You ARE wrong" unquote. Now obviously that cannot be true if you "think" about it. But it is true if she "feels" it. Any man wants to argue with the illogic of my statement, good luck with those blues and your woman...Peace...and Love, out!!
