Re: What song are you listening to right now?
Just finished this Rockpalast show by Robin Trower. Awesome way to blow away the Christmas holiday excesses.

Not so much song and songs....
Rainbreakers' latest EP - Rise Up
Five very classy tracks; On My Own; Rise Up; Waiting On You; Perception & Living Free.
Definitely growing in confidence from previous EP, Ben Edwards vocals a lot more to the fore. Good mid-paced mumbers but just wish the lads would let loose once in a while.....
Tweeter & the Monkey Man - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
For this album, I’m only going a couple of miles from the door. Mind you, this isn’t exactly Blues with a capital B; I doubt it even qualifies for a little “b”, but it’s so jammed full of surprises and influences and played with a sort of “what the Hell” attitude.
Ladies & Gentlemen, I bring to you Circuit 68 and Last of The Wild Bunch.
I have mentioned these guys once before, when their debut album was out and about; well, this is almost 5years on and after a recording break they’re back; hammering together British 1960’s R’n'B with 1990’s Britpop and some 1970’s New Wave. So from that, you can probably guess, they’re not “youngsters”, but they carry the torch of the “garage-band” scene proudly.
The back drop for the album, could be a parochial view of living and growing in County Durham through from the 1960s to the 1980s, all the pit closures and social changes, but not in an angry perspective or defiance but more could’ve/would’ve/should’ve against a backdrop of the contemporary music. This ranges from the Dylan-esque folk-rock of Last of The Wild Bunch, to a driving Stranglers infused numbers Trashtown & What We Want To Hear. Tomorrow Never Comes is a driving R’n'B classic stormer I’d defy anyone not to be itchin’ to hit the floor to.
From the opening howl of Do It Right, Lightning Seed meets Oasis to the semi acoustic closing ballad Wait, this album just wants to defy any musical genre, wilfully chameleon, but just crackles with energy.

Dorje, who knew ? I am not overly thrilled with it but then at 62 not so surprising, maybe some here will like them. Rob owns a guitar shop in the UK and demos for others like Andertons

Rob does demos for Anderton's. The Captain is the Anderton's man. They do some good comparisons. You just have to decide whether Rob is too over the top at times and also a bit high gain metal all the time in the demo's. There are literally tons of demo's on you tube if you are interested.
thanks Peter, actually it's my son that's interested in them.
there goes that Gales boy again, making us all look bad :
