Topic: Best single amp for a Bonamassa tone ?
Hi fellow JB fans
Short version : title says it all, what amp would you recommend to get in the ballpark of Joe Bonamassa's Marshally tone (think Royal Albert Hall) ?
Longer version : I really love JB's tone, and I think it's the tone I've always been after, even before I heard him play. I know tone is in the fingers and that he used to have a 4 amp rig.
Still I think I've managed to get quite close, with a cleanish amp and pedals. Strangely enough, I've tried (and bought) quite a few amps, including a 100w Jubilee reissue, and a Mini Jubilee, (and a Bogner Shiva 20th , and a Marshall YJM100 etc.) and was often disappointed by the results.
The best combination I've got so far is an Egnater Tweaker 15 and a Tone City Model M pedal (Marshall in a box). I've never been able to get as good a sound fom the big names above.
So which single amp would you recommend ? I'm currently looking at Carol Ann amps (or maybe Ceriatone Dumble clone OTS mini, but they're pretty much impossible to find in my country.
Thanks a lot for your answers.
