Argh....why Joe...why do you do this to me...!! :-p

If I hadn't bought those pickups then I could have booked....oh well....start my new job in October and have promised myself the best tickets I can get for a JB concert once I can afford them...I can only hope there'll be some tickets left for the Friday night at RAH when I can afford them.

Fingers crossed he's doing a full tour later in 2017 and offers a VIP package!!

Re: Joe returns to the Albert Hall 20 & 21 April 2017

Well, that was an ordeal. We've never been to the RAH before so I figured here's our chance to finally see Joe pay at that iconic venue. Presale at 9 am UK time which meant 4 am our time. Set the alarm for 3:50, woke in a fog since we had been out late that evening to see Samantha Fish play, and stumbled down in the dark to the computer. Finally got both my computer and Phil's ready to go and even elicited the help of our son Ryley, who happened to still be awake. Figured the more people trying, the better the chances. Ryley was the first to get through for one of the nights and he got 3rd row on the floor, but it was a high number. Phil then immediately got stalls O row 3 seats 13 & 14 for that same night. Agonizing commences. Do you we want 3rd row? It's a flat floor, people are always taller than us and who knows how far over to the side those seats are? We've been 2nd and 3rd row before and haven't been able to see a darn thing. I try and look at seating charts, but not one shows seat numbers. We decide to throw out Ryley's and keep Phil's. Then I get stalls G row 6 seats 12 & 13 for the other night. All seems fine, so we each try and purchase the nights we got. We try and enter credit card info. and Visa wants a preauthorization code. (I had to contact the credit card company the day before to let them know we would be purchasing because it is a foreign transaction and we've had issues in the past of them not allowing it because they think it is fraud) They send a code to our email, we put the codes in and then....nothing! The thing just spins and nothing happens, finally after what felt like an eternity a page comes up saying "page not found"! Nooooooo!!! Both of us have the same thing happen. We each try and go back on our computers to access the RAH site and can't get through. Page would not load! Is it the site? Is it our internet connection?! Do we try and reset our router. That would take a while. No, the forum comes up fine, facebook comes up fine. Try repeatedly to access and constantly get "page not found". Have we been denied access because of trying too many times, like what's happened with Ticketmaster in the past? I go to facebook, locate the planet rock link that Peter Noble had put out and try to access from there. First few tries, nothing. Phil's like, screw it! We just won't go! Then all of a sudden, boom! I'm in! It even showed my basket with the tickets we had wanted. Tried to purchase and then "Sorry time has expired"!! Ugh!! Went back to the main site and tried again. This time got stalls G row 6 seats 5 & 6 for Thursday and stalls M row 2 seats 87 & 88. We look at the seating charts, which are pretty pathetic since they don't show any seat numbers and now agonize over theses seats. Is that G stall too close? Will there be hanging speakers blocking our view? I try for some different ones and get stalls J. Well, that's way far back. Meanwhile time is ticking on the ones we have. Make a decision! I don't know what we should do! Try for a different one! Again not better. Screw it, we'll just get the first batch. Went to pay and this time the credit card went through without any trouble. I guess since I was still logged in from the previous time, the authorization actually had taken place. Completed the order and got the proper email for print at home tickets. Phew! Phil leaves to go to work since it is now 5:30 am and of course I go back and look at numerous seating charts and quietly agonize over the placement of our seats....

That's some ordeal Natasha but you should be used to it by now smile Your UK buddies have been to the venue loads of times - I would suggest you contact Maggie in the first instance to help allay any fears.

Guess we will be meeting again in April.

It can get stressful Natasha.

The Arena is good at the RAH if you are not too far from the front. The stalls are tiered and can offer great views, if you are not too far back.

I was a wee bit cheeky at the RAH at the last outing - I noticed that some press/media seats were vacated barely half an our into the gig and just moved seat!

Curryman sent me a link with proper seat numbers. Wish I had it while I was ordering. I think the first night we will be straight on view of the side of the stage. Hoping Joe will be set back a little from the front or we might be looking at his back. I think Friday's seats will be good. Better angle. It will be nice to see everyone again. Looks like a good crowd of friends will be going.

Re: Joe returns to the Albert Hall 20 & 21 April 2017

- Sadly, me and my better half, have decided to give the RAH 2017 a miss - I've seen Joe twice at the RAH, and we saw Joe this year at Greenwich, London.

We'll catch him next time around sad

Re: Joe returns to the Albert Hall 20 & 21 April 2017

I just got an email from eventim stating. . .

"the legendary Joe Bonamassa has added an extra date at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 21 April 2017 due to phenomenal demand."

Strange since this date was announced from the start, seems like they are trying to get some hype for these dates maybe?

Re: Joe returns to the Albert Hall 20 & 21 April 2017

Normal marketing it would appear. I see advance marketing over here all the time. You are on the target list.

Re: Joe returns to the Albert Hall 20 & 21 April 2017

The RAH concerts were advertised in the London papers on Friday, ticket sales appear to have gone well, maybe we'll get a third night ( due to phenomenal demand!).
I got an email from the RAH on Thursday but nothing from Eventim, fortunately we can all thank Kenny for the heads-up.

Re: Joe returns to the Albert Hall 20 & 21 April 2017

I awoke on Saturday last to be told by my wonderful wife she had been a good girl-no,not in that way!- and that she'd booked 2tix for the Friday night! I'd seen the dates obviously but as usual with London gigs-ANY London gigs-distance and time off work as well as hotel/ travel expense means I usually pass them by.This time around she basically said 'stuff it,you only live once',and booked em! Nearer the time we'll check hotels/trains etc,but not TOO near.Got stalls L,row 9,just up from floor level, about "5 o'clock" looking at stage, should be ok.Any tips regarding hotels be greatly appreciated!

Come on you Blades!

All priced at £79 including fees.

Re: Joe returns to the Albert Hall 20 & 21 April 2017

I was just having a look at the Albert Hall website and was pleasantly surprised to see that both shows are all but sold out. There's only standing in the Gallery available now (apart from one little lonely seat in the Rausing Circle on the Thursday). Pretty good going Joe.

Re: Joe returns to the Albert Hall 20 & 21 April 2017

Going to London in April with my wife to visit our college daughter.
Staying next to Royal Albert Hall (RAH).
As luck would have it we are sandwiched between the Who playing an acoustic Tommy show and Joe B. Oh well, at least we are going to experience RAH.
Ever hear of Caro Emerald? Europe has!
