Re: What song are you listening to right now?
"Toto; I've got a feeling were not in Kansas anymore". We must be over Castle Donington.......
Sorry, couldn't help myself, last night got Rainbow - Monsters of Rock CD/DVD.
Don't know whether this release is an appetite whetter for the upcoming Rainbow shows, or a hark back on glory days, but either way, it's a fine document of the first & short-lived (weren't the all?) post Dio line-up of Blackmore, Powell, Glover, Airey & Bonnett. Obviously, Bonnett really attacks on "his" songs, especially Eyes of The World & All Night Long and gives a better than expected rending of Stargazer though does lack Dio's expressiveness. I'm just chuffed to hear again Cozy's double-kick bass drums shaking my speakers. However, the night was clearly Ritchie's as he was pulling everything out.
Only thing was, never realised until listening, how much like a Proms concert this gig was; Holst, Bach, Beethoven and even Tchaikovsky breaking out.
Now then, the DVD; picture quality may not be hi-def, but it has stood well from nearly 36 years ago, which is about how long it's been since I last saw it, though can still vividly remember Graham Bonnett's "Percy Edwards" , However, the running order bares little resemblance to the CD, as does the running time and it looks like it was edited in a shredder
Give back the lemons. Why were the lemons free? What's wrong with the lemons?
