Topic: Plymouth Pavillions 21 March

Thank you Joe for a great show in Plymouth last night. However, in the interests of balanced reporting there a few points
I must add:

You said that the last time you were in this part of the world was Tavistock about a decade ago. You did in fact play the Plymouth Pavillions in October 2011. I know, I was there. You were recovering from a British Cold so it may have impaired your memory. However, it is something to keep an eye on and seek medical advice if your memory lapses become more frequent.

That horrendous abomination known as the Bonabird should have been strangled at birth. It sounds fine but it hurt my eyes to look at it. But that's just my opinion.

I really don't like your current version of Sloe Gin. The 2009 RAH version of the song is possibly the best guitar playing I have ever heard. For me, the current arrangement is a pale imitation.

I'm now really looking forward to the British Blues Tribute concert at the Colston Hall in Bristol in July.

Hi also was at the 2011 show!!
A good night last night preffered the original version of never make your move too soon, with the new band line up with horn section and keys being more dominant please be careful not to loose that edgeyness you have an important element

You may have been saying it alittle tongue in cheek but the man has been many many places and tours constantly. I'm sure a few slip ups would happen to any one. I disagree on the bonabyrd. There are far more egregious examples of strange guitars by far.

I agree on the Bonabyrd. It is foul. Joe said at Mr Kyps that when you're on the road for a living you do end to lose track of Geography plus an arena is an arena is an arena.... Must be an nice problem to have! Forgetting which arenas you've plated at already!  smile

It is foul!  Cute!  I didn't care for it either but it is a guitar that has grown on me.  Hoping to see it at Red Rocks.  But knowing Joe and the fact it will be a tribute to the three British Kings, I expect not.

As for changing a song or an arrangement, I understand that one too...Django is the one Joe is not allowed to touch as far as I am concerned.  Again, RAH version.

One of the things I have always enjoyed about Joe's music is that he DOES constantly change them up - and over time he changes them up quite a bit.  Biggest change I can think of is Mountain Time.  Sometimes I enjoy the newer version, sometimes I don't, but I know it will change again sooner or later.  I've been seeing him since 2004 and I'm still here.
