I went for the package too.
I saw the email about 4:15pm yesterday and had the order placed by 4:30pm. Woohoo!

Well it looks like I will be going too!   Two tickets,  now to find a butt to fill the other seat.  The search is on to find a Bonafan.  One who can get themselves to Colorado.

Now to decide on that used VOX ac 30 and the used Firebird I have been looking at.  Joe, look what you are doing to me!

As someone who has zero chance of ever seeing Joe live (he will not come to my hamlet until he's 80 and I'll be long gone) all I can hope is ...as long as Natasha and her camera are there smile

We won't be going to Red Rocks. Not my favorite venue and would rather spend the money to see him at the UK shows.

Re: British Blues Explosion Tribute @ Red Rocks 7/19

Well, I consider going to Red Rocks concerts one of the best parts of living in Colorado, but to each his own. There are venues I wouldn't go to for a concert, even if it were Joe, for instance the Pepsi Center down the road from Red Rocks. The sound distortion just isn't worth it.

It's interesting the varied tastes, not only in music, but in concert venues.
Personally, the Muddy Wolf show was one of the most memorable shows I've been to in my life. Yes, I love Joe and his music, but, for me, the setting of Red Rocks was a big contribution to the "feel" of that show.

Indeedy doo. I think Tash was more miffed about random blockage of her vids than the venue. I had plans to record as well but the warning from one of the security guys before the start gave me no option and the video crew were set up right in front of me as well. I just sat back and enjoyed one of the best gigs ever. The camera rolled in my lap recording the audio.

Re: British Blues Explosion Tribute @ Red Rocks 7/19

Are any of the British 3 kings shows being recorded for CD/DVD/BLU-RAY Release? Can't find any info & I sure hope that they are recorded & hopefully some "special guests" make an appearance...

Thank you and have a great trip cool

Re: British Blues Explosion Tribute @ Red Rocks 7/19

I understand Natasha not liking the venue for those reasons.  Those things drive me nuts.  But another trip to Europe this year is out of the question for me.

Looks like one of the UK shows will be filmed though.

1. Bonafan for many years
2. Zeppelin freak
3. Can get to Colorado; I spend most of my vacation time there.

Re: British Blues Explosion Tribute @ Red Rocks 7/19

I didn't love Red Rocks either, based on my one trip there for Muddy Wolf.

The venue itself is enough of a draw that you end up with a lot of people who aren't really fans, which could be great, as they could become fans. But I was among a very loud and seemingly disinterested crowd.

And while the staff aggressively shut down people recording, they ignored the hundreds upon hundreds smoking pot. I was there with my 12 year old son, so that was a big negative for me.

I'll be first in line to get the CD and BluRay though! :-)
