Topic: British Blues Explosion Tribute @ Red Rocks 7/19

There was a quiet rumor floating around the KTBA cruise that Joe would do one US show for his British 3 Kings tour on 7/19 @ Red Rocks.  Denver public television CPT12.org is running his Royal Albert (2009) show as I type this and offering 2 tickets to the show for a donation of $270.

Their web site is moving at a snails pace so they must be getting hammered.  Go get 'em while they're still available, and good luck!  I just got my 2.

I've been watching nearly daily for the British 3 Kings show at Red Rocks.  But now I'm hesitating. I know this is a great fundraiser for Channel 12 and I got Bonamassa Tickets this way one year.  But the stress of not knowing what seats I'm buying is tough.  Oh, I am so torn!  Can I risk missing this?

Re: British Blues Explosion Tribute @ Red Rocks 7/19

I feel stupid asking, but who are the BRITISH "3 Kings"?   I mean, BB, Albert, and Freddie KING made sense. lol

Who are the British "kings"? Clapton? Beck? ???

Any hints on when presale happens?

There is no pre-sale, I bought my tickets last night.

** and to clarify Skinnylatte is correct... you don't actually buy your tickets.  You make a $270 pledge to the PBS station, and in a few months they send you two tickets.  No way to pick your seats.  They did the 3 Kings the same way last summer.

I imagine the presale will happen once PBS does their thing. We'll have to keep our eyes peeled for info regarding it.

If I'm spending money on a trip to Colorado, I'm likely not risking an unknown seat location (did that once in Merrillville and was very disappointed).
At the Chicago Theater, PBS tickets took up most of the main floor although I believe there was some (ahem) "creative" sales for tickets in the first ten rows.

Re: British Blues Explosion Tribute @ Red Rocks 7/19

I purchased tickets last year through a donation to CPT12 for the Three Kings show at Red Rocks in August and we received 9th row just right of center.  And yes, we did not know where our seats would be prior to actually receiving the tickets but I figured that they would be pretty good seats.

Just sharing my experience, of course there are no guarantees where the tickets will be but it worked out fine for us.  Best of luck if you decide to go that route.

I did the same last year and was 14th row, right of center.  If this is a similar sale to last year, there are very few seats better than these, and many worse ones.  As with xland, just sharing my experience.

Bill, I agree.  Being patient until I can order tickets is going to be hard but worth it to know from day one where my seats are.  Hope you do make the trip to Colorado, Red Rocks is one of the best venues anywhere if you're there for the sound.  And the experience, too.

Hm, good to know.  Awkward that I need three tickets, though.

I was fortunate enough to be there for the Muddy Wolf show...12th row right next to the sound board. I always wanted to witness a show at Red Rocks. Joe appearing there was the push I needed. Great venue, great setting, fun mini vacation

I did that for the first Red Rocks show. I was far left in the 27th row, so the seats were just ok, but certainly better than the 75ish rows behind me. smile

For those that are going, if you haven't been in Rocky Mountain National Park, driving route 34 out of Estes Park and through the park is a day very well spent, IMO.

We were there for Muddy Wolf and the Three Kings, too.  Especially loved Muddy Wolf because I had been hoping Joe would get to Red Rocks and that was his first appearance there.  He puts so much care into making it a great show, and I'm sure this year will be over the top once again, and the Three Kings was special in its own way too.  Joe educates as he entertains and I really appreciate that.
