Re: The London Gig Guide

Mike, thanks for your kind words, which unfortunately, I've not been deserving of in the last few months. Having been made redundant from a job that I had time to update the Gig Guide, I'm now working for an American outfit that wants its daily pint of blood and also is much more strict about which URLs I can visit. sad

Thank you for updating the London Gig Guide on Aynsley's Forum and I've taken the liberty of pasting the list on page one of this topic. I'll try to update the list when I can.

Again, thank you to all those who add artists and dates to this popular thread.

Hey Phil - we know you'd still be at it if you could, so happy to help out. At least I had a good framework to start from; wouldn't like to do this from scratch, especially not being from "the smoke". You may want to cut-n-paste again; just finished the final tweakin'.

Re: The London Gig Guide

Thanks Mike. I've taken your latest list and updated page one and added a couple more plus one or two corrections. Who is this band Skink Anansie? lol I must say there are some artists and venues I've not heard of before so well done for seeking them out. Hope they aren't too far away from blues rock. wink

You might like to copy and paste it onto Aynsley's Forum. Together we'll nail it. smile

Re: The London Gig Guide

"Skink Anansie"?  OOPS!  Sorry about that - did you think it was a tribute band?

Okay, Clan of Xymox may be a little left field; from my "gothy" phase. So long as it's "Clan of", file under Prog, but a while back, they just went under "Xymox" and were more of an ambient dance band.

Goblin - mad bunch of Italian prog-sters, best known for musical scores to Dario Argento's horror/thriller movies.

Tomi Saario - young Finnish guy, often seen busking on Portabello Rd, Interesting sound in the John Mayer style.

Re: The London Gig Guide

Don't think it effects too many gigs in the thread, but on Off Topics, Birdingpen has just posted a link giving info that the Shepherds Bush O2 has been closed temporarily due to structural issues with the roof.

I've already posted that the Hawkwind + Steve Hilage gig has been move to an alternate venue, The Coronet; but check with SBE box office if you've any gigs there over the holidays as work is expected to last into the New Year.
