Re: The London Gig Guide

I thought it may be helpful to my London Gig Buddies if we had a thread dedicated to our nights out. This should make planning a little easier as we approach the autumn gigging season.

The above shows are those currently in my diary and I will update it as I find more that you may be interested in. Please add any you find that may be of interest to everyone and I will update the list at the top of the thread. The caveat is that they must be artists you’d want to see, not any and every act playing London. The emphasis as ever is on Blues Rock artists.

See you there.

Re: The London Gig Guide

Don't forget the W.T.FEASTER BAND are over from the USA in August, playing at Pete Feenstra venues www.feenstra.co.uk in the London area and the JOLLY FARMERS pub in Purley on 18th August - http://www.jollyfarmers-purley.co.uk/jf … 20page.htm

it would be a crime to miss this band Phil!!!!

The JOLLY FARMERS is a great little pub - I've seen some great bands there in recent years including DAVID GOGO, ROB TOGNONI, CARVIN JONES, BAD INFLUENCE, VIRGIL & THE ACCELERATORS, PAPA GEORGE BAND - give it a try some time............

By the way Phil, I'll try and make all those November gigs, but am on hols in Sept so will miss the TROWER/LISTER gig sad

Re: The London Gig Guide

Thank you for your replies guys. It's just what I wanted.

Roger, I may join you if 24 pesos are playing CSB on 28th August, but it's not on the CSB website yet. From what I heard of them on PJ's Maryport festival special last week, they sound worth checking out.

The Gig List above has been duly updated.

Keep 'em coming.

No problem Phil, i'll see if I can get guest passes. The Pesos are brilliant , the cd is the best I've heard this year, saw them a couple of weeks back and they were terrific.
2 days beforehand at CSB is Clare Free which I am hoping to attend.
WT Feaster @ Jolly Farmers is pencilled in as well as that is near me that night. And of course assorted Marcus gigs inbetween.

Marcus Bonfanti & The Blues Experience as well as 24Pesos are at Ronnie Scotts on 15th Aug

Re: The London Gig Guide

...anyone got their Satriani Hammersmith Apollo tickets yet?... i ordered two off the Planet Rock mob ages ago and not turned up yet?  hmm

Re: The London Gig Guide

Hi,
Just found out the Rob Tognoni is on at Charlotte Street Blues Club on Thursday 7th October.  Saw him there and in Shipley in April.  Should be a great gig.

Re: The London Gig Guide

Great shout Maggie

Re: The London Gig Guide

Thanks Maggie. I'll add when it appears on the CSB listings. In the meanwhile I've just added 24 Pesos and Hamilton Loomis to the list. I doubt there will be many takers for Loomis as it's the same night as Matt Schofield's on at The Borderline.

Re: The London Gig Guide

It is a shame that Hamilton and Matt are playing in London on the same night.  When I saw Hamilton at Beaverwood Matt came down just to jam with him for two songs - a stunning performance.

Lydia and I have booked to see Billy Walton opening for Southside Johnny at Shepherds Bush on 21st October.  We will be at the front for that one  big_smile

Re: The London Gig Guide

Hey Wooders its Keith. Sorry I haven't got back sooner, my pc's been up the creek. I'm glad you had a great time, I knew Buddy would be good live. I'm blown away mate that you sent me an extra £10 for the tickets, really I am. All I know is you must be a proper music lover to have appreciated it that much. I'm now going to check your posts and see if you left anything about Buddy's gig. I'm just glad the tickets went to a worthy fan. Thanks again mate!

Re: The London Gig Guide

Hi Keith,

Welcome to Joe's forum.  big_smile  Great to see you here and you are very welcome to the extra £10; for sheer entertainment Buddy was worth every penny. The thread you are looking for is Here  I recommend you read the whole thread to see the discussion on people's view of whether Buddy is worth seeing. I'm glad I did.  wink   The thread also includes my brief review, a more detailed review will hopefully appear in Blues Matters! magazine in a month or so.

I hope to see you at one of the London Gigs someday.  smile
