Saddles on a les paul can be altered simply by changing strings if one is not careful. The are critical to action and intonation. so unless your careful changing your strings you could accidentally change their position. So once dialed in and forget it is not the norm.
Thanks Ron ... I'm still in the "I take a while to change stings ... one at a time ... to avoid "anything" moving" stage
... Guess what I was after ... obviously the BonaByrd doesn't "need" saddles ... as some Firebirds don't have them either ... to sound great ...but does setting guitars up without saddles take more "skill" / know how? (of course ... adjusting saddles correctly takes experience / skill.) ... or is it easier / more limited? ... and are guitars w/o saddles more dependent on the manufacturer to make sure all the pieces are put "in place" out of the gate?
Has nothing to do with BonaByrd in particular ... just a question I have had ... and with Googling ... you can throw a dart for an answer.
No such this as a dumb question I hope?
Best wishes on your BonaByrd ... hoping you get # ... , but don't want to jinx it, so I won't type it.
PS .. tuning drums is a "pain" .. unless u stay with a 3 piece jazz kit.

JBLP#251 (unaged) ... thank you Ron.
