Re: Lineup Changes

On the Borderline bluray/dvd for the No Man's Land feature, at the 11 minute mark you hear Kevin call Anton and Michael the A team.  I don't know about Joe but I think Kevin prefers Anton and Michael instead of Tal and Carmine.

I'm going to have to pull out the Borderline blu-ray. I've had it for quite some time but never had a chance to watch it.

Just like "back in the day", standing right in front of the stage, soaking in Joe at his best!
Talk about a trip down memory lane! Even though I was awake for 48 hours straight, it's a night I'll never forget.

I can only imagine.

For me, personally, this would be my favorite way to see Joe perform and I would love to have a chance to see something like this in the future.

Re: Lineup Changes

Me too.

Borderline is my favourite Blu-Ray. Absolutely great.
Small club, great band, great songs.
Joe on Fire and pure Power.

Hope he will do it again sometime and somewhere.

Same goes for RCFP live at Iridium.
A Blu-Ray from Baked Potato would be cool.

Re: Lineup Changes

I asked Tal about this line up change at the baked potato over the weekend, he just kind of shrugged his shoulders and said things change, I asked if he thought he'd be back and he said he didn't think so but you never know. So I asked if this was going to be the last I saw of them playing together and he said that RCFP will be playing together for a long time, even said they are already working an another album. So not all bad.

Yes, Joe said at the end of the last set that RCFP was a great love to him and they'd be doing more together.

Re: Lineup Changes

I enjoyed Borderline the most of any of the Tour De Force,   so I find these changes intriguing .

This is gonna be good.

Carmine, Tai you guys are AAA talent and such an inspiration. You both will be missed. I am sure we will see you again because yes things change. I thought something like this would happen after seeing the show at Red Rocks.
Good luck to you both
cheers Ron

+1.  Now, if you really want to stir the pot...something I have wondered for a few years now is, when will Kevin be replaced.  Not that Kevin has not done a spectacular job with Joe, but at sometime don't you want to experiment with a different direction.
Thank you Carmine, and Tal.  We have seen you 6 times with Joe and you were spectacular.
Welcome Anton and Michael.  I have to admit, I am a huge Anton fan and am very excited.

Kevin?  Personally I think he's held Joe back in some ways.  And Joe if you wanted a funky blues bassman...

Kevin said the same thing about Rojas & Bonzo once...I think it was the day before yesterday.

Re: Lineup Changes

This post takes me back to the changing of the guard when Kenny and Eric were replaced and the backlash that ensued. By now I'm used to the changes and expect them on a regular basis. Got to admit seeing Carm leave is tougher than all the others. The guy has style and grace, not to mention a spiritual vibe which he sent my way during my cancer battle in 07-08. I'm gonna miss that Freakin' Puerto Rican. Actually we msg now and again especially in Feb. since our B-days are 4 days apart, the exact difference in our ages. He's the old man since I came around 4 days later.

Re: Lineup Changes

Over the years, I've become friends with Joe.  I wouldn't dare judge between 2 friends.  Change is inevitable.  Just had to laugh about the A Team comment.  At the time of that CD...

When Joe comes to my neighborhood, I'll be there to see him.  I love the blues turn and his singing.  It's all good.

Talked to  "El Rojito" yesterday.  He's around for the moment, J-Dawg.  Text away.

Re: Lineup Changes

funny.
I watch Rockplast and love it.
I watch Royal Albert Hall 2009 and love it
I watch Borderline 2013 and love it.

It's my personal wish that the split is amicable; don't like to think anyone has "gone away mad"
