Topic: Just thinking a "Joe & Friends" mini tour would be cool

I realize Joe and Roy are on top of things and have probably thought out Joe's tours for who knows how many years into the future, but I just thought wouldn't it be cool to have Joe do like a mini tour with some of his friends. Just thinking back on the cruise and how the Artist Jam was definitely the highlight for both Phil and myself and also recently saw a photo on facebook of Joe hanging out at his home playing with his friends Josh Smith and Kirk Fletcher. So I thought, wouldn't it be cool if he did something with these guys, maybe throwing in JD Simo and Paulie Cerra as well. Or he has some core group and each city he stops in he has a friend from that area join him on stage. Just a small tour, nothing prolonged since they all have their own schedules as well. It's just so much fun to see him jamming with his friends, they are all such excellent musicians and they look like they have so much fun playing together. Maybe it's a dumb idea, but thought I'd put it out there regardless.

That would be fantastic.  A "G3" for Blues/Rock.

Joe, Eric Gales, Kirk Fletcher?

I once heard Kim Mitchel (aka Max Webster band) on the radio answering a question about: does his band ever get together to 'practice' or jam..

His answer was: I did it once, I had everyone come over to practice the weeks songs, I then received billing from everyone in the band stating that they needed their 'per-bona' for their time.

He said he never once requested his band to come and practice again.

Everyone of Joe's 'friends' I'm sure need their performance money and there is enough complaints about how pricey the tickets are now.
more musicians means more pay checks to write.

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)

Joe always practices with his band before tours so he obviously has that all figured out. And I can't imagine the guys I was talking about being more pricey than Anton Fig, Michael Rhodes, Blondie Chaplin or whoever else Joe has had on small tours with him. Any way it's just a crazy idea that was bopping around in my head nothing more.

I am sure any logistics and fees could be worked out.  I think Roy Joe and Kevin are always looking for new and fresh ways to present Joe and his music.

A mini tour like he did with Beth Hart would be great. you and I both know how many guitar geek friends he has.  I was thinking of Greg Koch or Greg Martin.  Or like you said a regional thing. Divide the country up and do 1 show with all his west coast friends,  East Coast  and then Mid America.   Great ideas.  From your mount to Joe's ear.
