Re: Mahalia Barnes w/Joe Bonamassa

Thanks for that.........I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to the album.  Has brought back some fond memories of the recent concert.

Can't wait for my cd so that I can blast it out at 'concert' volume!!!!!!!

Re: Mahalia Barnes w/Joe Bonamassa

I have listened to the Livestream a half dozen times over the last few days on my computer and again this morning. I do like it.

I had to go to the Post Office this morning and lo and behold the CD was there waiting for me. Once home I put it on my hifi system and played it - not quite at 'çoncert 'volume but quite loudly never the less.

Sure sounded fantastic - there are some great grooves and some of the bass lines sound wicked.

This will be on high rotation until The Muddy Wolf Band comes out

Re: Mahalia Barnes w/Joe Bonamassa

Picked this up recently. I think it is fantastic. I actually (my own personal taste) prefer this over any of the Joe/Beth stuff. This cd is so funky you can taste it.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Re: Mahalia Barnes w/Joe Bonamassa

I just bought this yesterday at last. Been waiting for it to pop up in one of my locals and just happened to get lucky yesterday.

It's a cracker, that's for sure.

In saying that, I really like the Joe + Beth stuff but there's just something about this, though I kind of 'forget' that it's got Joe on it. Mahalia steals the show here, as much as I love Joe's playing on it, it's seemingly subtle by comparison to the Beth + Joe records. I tip my hat to Ms Barnes. smile
