I *thought* that I saw on Facebook that Joe was doing a short tour here with Mahalia... I'll have to look it up, though I fear they are only doing the 'big cities' down south... smile

Only Melbourne and Sydney announced Devan - I believe it is only a flying visit by Joe so dates in other cities are unlikely. Fingers crossed for you though!

Just got mine for the Factory Theatre smile

I was lucky enough in the last 4 months or so to see both Joe and Mahalia doing their "usual" stuff in Sydney and the Hunter Valley respectively (Mahalia at a wineries show headlined by the old man) but I feel that this is going to be a real treat. It's going to be different (and amazing) to see Joe in a smaller / all GA room.

Lucky folks in Land of OZ to see these guys together.  Started following Mahalia after I saw  her sing in a video with her dad.  She is so soulful and a lovely lady.

So, saw the Sydney show last night. Incredible! Thoroughly recommend the album (which was for sale at the show, although not officially released for 3 weeks). It is a gritty, funky, 'bad girl' soul masterpiece. Mahalia nails it. I hope Betty Davis is also impressed. They played all of it - love that! Then had some fun with their other Soul Mates stuff and a Jimmy Barnes song that they'd recorded with him on his latest album (dad was up for a few tunes too).

This is Joes forum. There were obviously people there for him (JB shirts and such) and he was awesome. He seemed to be having a ball and at no time tried to detract from it being Mahalia's show. Played one JB ES all night. Probably unusual Joe stuff was having some sheets on a music stand. And trading licks with Soul Mates guitarist, Franco Raggat, who he lauded at times. A great night was had by all.

There should be some stuff up on YouTube before long - have a look.
