Re: Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band

Seger was huge on Chicago fm rock radio back in the late 70's and early 80's.He became a bit I replayed in my opinion. But put out a lot of great rock music that standard the test if time.I would say a great song writer if nothing else.

Interesting. Target is selling the Deluxe edition of his new album but with 2 extra tracks. Doesn't say what they are yet though - released next week.

Re: Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band

Should get that CD.  Going to see him late next month, like to be familiar with what I'm hearing.  My childhood music.

Canada date by any chance? I am flying across the pond for his Boston show. Has to be done. Last chance to see him and he won't make another album. The title says it all and does anyone recognise the album cover destination? Hint - Tom Hanks.

Re: Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band

Saw him on the "Against the Wind" tour....band was great...he was great...what an excellent rock songwriter...Is he in the Hall of Fame yet?...He should be..

What remains of The J. Geils Band are opening some of the shows on the current tour. J. Geils himself is not in the band currently.

Re: Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band

Kenny...yes, Halifax.  He is also playing Saint John, I live between the two cities.  Bob played here in Moncton in the '70's, some idiot's in the audience booo'd him!!  It was just Bob and a couple of acoustics, no Silver Bullet Band.  He was opening for Bachman Turner Overdrive.  He apparently vowed to never play here again, can't blame him.  Glad he is playing within easy driving distance though.

Album cover is not ringing any bells.

Good article here... http://www.freep.com/story/entertainmen … /17051537/

Looks like he has a couple of TV appearances this coming week.

Re: Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band

Thanks for that Steve - great read.

The "Ride Out" cover is Monument Valley and is the spot where Forrest Gump stopped running in that famous movie that featured Bob's song "Against the Wind".

Re: Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band

Ha, I should have been able to figure that one out.  Many moons since I saw that movie.

Re: Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band

Here is a challenge, I saw Bob when I was 15 years old.  That was 1966, at Daniel's Den in Saginaw, Michigan.  Also saw Ted Nugent, there, and considered the best band of Michigan at that time, The Scott Richards Case, or SRC.  Who can beat that.  Live Bullet is in my top 5 albums of all time.  Love everything Joe, but if he wants to be funky with RCFP, listen to this album.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.
