Phil was in New York on business and while he was there he went to see the Gov't Mule show on 9/17. He took my camera with him and filmed the whole show. I'm slowly putting them up on my channel.

Yay! Got tickets for my first Mule show, Oct 24th at the Neptune in Seattle.

I still need to get it! (Shout) And Jane, I took your advice and weaseled my way as close to Warren as I could get. It was hard because he was crammed over on the left side. The Neptune is a really old theater, very tiny. I think the capacity is just under 900 and it does have a balcony too.

What a player. And they really deliver! Two sets! Fun to watch the crowd too at these shows. For a couple songs there was a guy behind me, had to be almost 7 feet tall, all arms and legs dressed in head to toe in tie dye jumping up and down, waving his arms. He was seriously aerobicizing. Jazzercize? Mule-y-cize!

Anyway, great show. I'll now try and see them every time they come to Seattle.

Edit to add: Cool to see a real Leslie! Looks like it weighs a freakin' ton!

for the europeane muleheads...............i found out the first two dates in germany for 2014. 6.07. hamburg fabrik, and 7.07. hannover  capitol.

Thanks for putting these up, Ian, although I've no idea what they are yet as youtube is verboten at work. Will try to look tomorrow 'cos you know where I'll be tonight.:) I've no idea how well mine have come out yet as I've only seen T Beck on my camera on train home last night, but it looked good. Will try to get some uploaded at the weekend.

It was a superb evening with great company (David, Ian and Ian's son, Will) all with me down at the front, where else. As I've just said to David, I could see Mule every night for a week or more and I know I'd not tire of them. You have to admire a band that played none of the songs on the setlist from their last visit to London one year ago and only two from the previous year. They are the ultimate musicians imo and my favourite band and even better, we get to do it all again tonight with a different setlist.

I loved every second of it. Besides the tracks from Shout, there were a couple of first timers for me and, being a big ABB fan, it was great to hear Rocking Horse.

I wonder who's guesting tonight? There's so much choice amongst the UK music fraternity that Mule don't have the chance to perform with very often. Let's hope for a Brit or two tonight.
Edited to say we did have guest appearances in London by Paul Jones and Bernie Marsden a couple of years ago - before someone "reminds" me.

As I can't listen I'll take your word for it and have changed the setlist. I've got the drum from RnR in my head now and yes, you're right. I must have been so excited I got my drum beats in a fluster. It's great to hear a drummer playing drums with some depth. I'm tired of hearing drumming that sounds like someone hitting a suitcase so it's great to hear someone play like Bonzo.
