So excited, I certainly plan on being at the pre show meeting. Thanks Natasha for helping get this going.

When and where is the pre show meeting?  Can you not see him after the show anymore? At the last Louisville show he was gone as soon as soon as the show ended.

Post show meets are a thing of the past. Pre show meets (with Joe)  are by appointment as per the sticky. Pre show get togethers of fans are either mentioned here or on the facebook channels that fans frequent.

So how do you make an appointment?

You get a chance at a meet and greet by either volunteering to promote a particular show via street team activities, or purchasing the opportunity via Lithograph, other promotion or PBS donations.

Better add that anything should be arranged as far in advance as possible...6 months out is better than 6 weeks out, which of course, is definitely better than 6 days or less out... wink

If a PBS Joe Bonamassa promotion is STILL available (or already occurred in your local area), it is possibly the shortest lead time you can expect for a Meet & Greet when you approach performance dates, although not a guaranty for THAT particular concert IF the slots are all expended.  My wandering, wondering mind only, not policies. smile

Perfect except for some drunken fools, more to follow.

Re: Nashville 4-26-14 at the Ryman

Well, the people who kept telling us there is not a bad seat in the house must have been referring to sound, because that was true. However as far as being able to see, those people must be tall, because when you are only 5'2" and on the floor, you can barely see because there is hardly any slope. Plus there were countless people arriving late, getting up and going out to the lobby and back. And since the seats are long church pews close together, the whole row sometimes has to empty out to accommodate a large person getting to their seat. Irritating to say the least. You will see what I was dealing with in the "Happier Times" video. I was so looking forward to seeing this, but there were constantly people walking in front of me. For the electric set, I ended up going upstairs to the back of the balcony and standing over to the left side where there was a low wall for wheelchair people to watch. Kind of interesting view from up there. Couldn't see Derek at all, but I already know what he looks like, lol! Best part was that people were quiet and respectful up there and I was up so high, no one could block my view. The only unfortunate part was that the end of the monopod for the camera was on top of the low wall and the videos picked up vibrations from the bass drum so they aren't as clear as they should be. For "Mountain Time" I panned out to the audience a few times to show the lights swirling around on them because that was pretty cool looking and being down front you never see that kind of thing.  We had a great time hanging with Rhonda and it was really cool meeting Mary(wvgirlinKY) and her husband. Always nice to hang out with fellow bonabuds smile

Happier Times http://youtu.be/JxLgajo0t8U  Derek's solo in this song had elements of Zeppelin's "No Quarter" which really sounded cool. Try and ignore the people blocking the view at times.

Blues Deluxe http://youtu.be/mlXMYWgwwSg  We were once again witness to an off the hook "Blues Deluxe"

Love Ain't A Love Song http://youtu.be/IhxIHYCKXqA  This one is played on Joe's most recent prized acquisition. Very exceptional Black Strat that Joe had just gotten that day.

It appears u were able to get the $2 tour of the facility during the show eh .. lol
From the pics of the seating layout, there really wasnt a big incline, and when it was mentioned about the wood pews/seats, my first thought after reading ur dilemma was that a thick butt pillow woulda came in handy .. both for comfort and an extra four inch prop up .. just sayin .. lol

I've enjoyed a great many of ur uploads from the shows ..
Thanks a bunch for posting Natasha cool

Thanks Buzzy, yeah a thick pillow would have been nice smile Glad I moved upstairs.
Here is Django and Mountain Time. I got some cool shots of the crowd with the lights swirling on them in the  middle of Mountain Time.

Re: Nashville 4-26-14 at the Ryman

The show was great. I had to stand at the top of balcony for whole show. Even at 6'1 my legs were too long for me and the other people to fit in the pews. But what a show. Now looking forward to November when he comes to my town.

Re: Nashville 4-26-14 at the Ryman

I forgot to mention that we had Phil's client and his wife with us at the show. They love music, but had never heard of Joe before. Well, needless to say they were totally blown away by his performance. And of course stated what we all state when first hearing Joe, "why have I never heard of him before?!" Phil said they were smiling the whole time and his client's wife kept taking videos with her phone because she loved it so much she kept wanting to capture it. So much fun turning on new people to Joe's music.

Here are a few photos of the Ryman Auditorium. As you can see it was definitely a church at one time and has been lovingly restored. https://www.flickr.com/photos/anitrasda … 423141143/

Here are the rest that I did:

Oh Beautiful http://youtu.be/KqHplw4skyw  Joe was just wailing on his solo on this one!

Who's Been Talking http://youtu.be/PauHNDw2tX8  with the Black Burst

Sloe Gin http://youtu.be/SSxTGpKdAEA

Ballad of John Henry http://youtu.be/LNygA5S7qsQ  As I had said before, I couldn't see Derek during his solo, so I just kept it focused on the other guys. It was cool vantage point for watching Joe on the Theremin, though smile

Thank you so much for taking the (GREAT!) videos and making them available for us to watch.  I truly appreciate it, I find that I watch them over and over and over....  smile

Re: Nashville 4-26-14 at the Ryman

Another outstanding performance! I loved the new guitar and the new songs. Felt like maybe there was more of a rock vibe, which I prefer. That last jam of BOJH gave me the chills. And then before I knew it, the show was over. The drunk guy behind me eventually got kicked out and the couple in front of us drank so much I'm surprised they didn't float away. Other than that, not much going on in the balcony.

Sorry to have missed Natasha and Mary. What happened? We landed at Margaritaville around 4:45, checked in at the hostess station, looked around and hung in the bar area. Didn't see you anywhere. The host said his friend was on Joe's crew so he gave us a couple of Joe's guitar picks - that was an unexpected gift.

My goal this trip was to have a Lenny encounter and encounter we did! He was so sweet while I complained to him about the injuries I had sustained to my hands from banging a tambourine my first night in Nashville (that, my friends, is a story for another time). We also got to say hi to Carmine. I really wanted to meet Derek and Tal, too, but I didn't want to bug them. Figured I was over the limit having talked to Lenny and Carmine.

At around 1:30 a.m. we were back in the Ryman neighborhood and the trucks and last bus were finally pulling out.

As always, many thanks to Joe, the band and crew for another great road trip and an awesome show!

LIVE MUSIC IS BEST

Re: Nashville 4-26-14 at the Ryman

Second day of our mini  road trip, Bonamassa Style was Joe's show at the Ryman.   What a great town Nashville is.  We are lucky enough to live only about 2 hours north of Nashville and have enjoyed it many times through the years. Saturday the streets were packed  with tourists and runners from Nashvilles marathon earlier in the day.    Had a preshow get together with Rhonda ( PhotoGal) nmagcorn( Natasha and Phil) plus another couple from  Bonanation, Mike and Deborah at Margaritaville. Good time eating and talking of all things Joe.
Got to get great photos of Joe's trucks and buses as they are parked right by the entrance.   Saw all the crew, Eric Roa, Clay Allen, Mike Hickey and Colin Moody and Mr. Bob from the meet and Greets.   Plus others that I don't know names for. Saw Dennis the Truck Driver too.  He was very nice.  Ran into some folks at the Ryman before the show that we had met at the Louisville Palace show last fall.  Lovely older lady  named Mary.  She has this great shirt that says Joe and it lights up. They had just been to a meet and greet and where estatic for that.

What a great venue.   Loved looking at the photos and statues inside. Man was it packed.  huge crowd.   Seats in the balcony had a great view of the stage.   I think you need to sit in the balcony or first 6 rows down stairs for unobstructed views.   Like I said in my other post, Jack shared excess tickets with us and we ended up Third row floor slightly to the left of center.   Ran into another Friend Pam from Bonanation.  I think she is on the forum but can't remember her forum name.    On our right was a nice couple that came from Napa  to see Joe's historic moment at the Ryman.  On our left was a lady named Flo who may win a prize for coming the farthest and taking the most indirect  route there.  She was from the Yukon in Canada and flew out on a bush plane to Moose Jaw, then to Vancouver, then to Toronto to Nashville.  Wow, now that is an effort to see Joe.  First time for her to see him. She loved it.  Like I said  set list was the same at Lexington and Nashville just guitars were different.
Actually I think you could say other than Joe's playing the guitars were the stars of the show.  We saw Skinner Burst, the new 55 Fender Strat that Joe said had not been onstage since 1958.  It was lovely still has the guys initials on it.  Sound on it was so good. I think he played this on one of the new songs.   The new Bonabird II, just love that seafoam green or blue color.  Then the unveiling of the epihpone les paul in Blue. my it sounded good and was so cool to look at. I think he played Runt and Spot, not sure due to lighting.   But the highlight for me was that Black Burst.  What on earth.  Crazy good it sounded.  I just wanted to go hang out with Mike Hickey and hold those guitars.  I am just now learning to play( which means I bought a guitar and pretend I can play) but I have come to love looking at these old ones. Such  a fun thing when you go to Joe's shows, seeing the star studded line up!
The music was great, Joe was great as always.  The only issue was these stupid drunks in the second row on right side of stage.  Just rude and horrible.  the stood up most of the night and hooted and hollered.  I was so sad for Joe cause I know what a big deal playing at the Ryman was for him.  During the song Mountain Time, it seemed Joe just got mad and did not finish one really quiet part.  Last negative thing was the way folks just started coming up and taking pictures and standing in the aisle. No manners.   But none of this detracted from the Glory of Joe and the band and their performance.  Stellar!

Last comments are just a random thought about seeing Joe on that stage.  I have been there several times over the years and saw folks like Minnie Pearl, Roy Acuff, Little Jimmy Dickens, Johnny Cash, Porter Wagner, Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell on and on.  What an honor to see Joe Bonamassa on that stage and just tearing it up. Mind bending, face melting unreal sounds were heard all night long. Thank you Joe, you my friend have arrived.
