SAT 7 December - Beth Hart & Band @ Zeche Bochum
I don't expect that they can top the concert they gave there last year. It was such an absolute goosebump concert !!! But who knows. Hope Beth, band and audience are in the mood for a night to remember

Hamburg is totally sold out for some weeks and I was far too late. Looks like I'll miss her this time. Shame........
Beth made it to the cover story of the German magazine bluesnews No 76 (printed edition).
The article ends with an outlook ... in February 2014 the production of a new album will start
It shall be a "very" personal album with a touch of blues and soul but primarily in singer/songwriter style.
Producer of the new album will be Rob Mathes, a guy who worked with Sting, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Lou Reed only to name a few.
After 2 cover albums I'm happy to hear that Beth will do her own thing again cause I really love her own songwriting and composing.
Regarding the sold out show in Hamburg: sometimes one can win tickets on Beth Hart's facebook side ...
Booked my ticket about half a year ago ... Beth & Band were so fantastic when they played Zeche Bochum last year that I had no doubts that it would be a sold out show again and so I booked my tickets when they came out. No idea when that was, maybe half a year ago.
Seems that nearly the whole show @ Paradiso is on youtube, though people are talking very loud:

Actually I don't care what Beth will sing cause she can sing everything but I hope that she'll play the last one and Whole lotta love and Nutbush city limits.

Thanks Blues Sissi. You really got some early scoop! Rob was the musical director for the Kennedy Center Honors so that must be the connection. Should be interesting!
P.S. Have a great time at the show as well.
For those who would like to hear it... Beth sang a new song on a live UStream session (as well as her gig last night in Germany). The UStream video is below and the new song Fire on the Floor is at the 8:28 mark. Love the lyrics and the piano. Hope it will be on the new album. It's great when she plays songs that aren't even finished yet.

I could hug her and kiss her right now! Could anyone in Deutschland please do so for moi? Congratulations Beth. You are the catalyst!
I could be happier, but that will be for later, hopefully.
It IS a great day.
Rock ON & Keep the Faith,
Rocket
ps-no disappointment(s) now or later. I have the music. Thank-YOU very mucho!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
The more I listen to Beth, the more I appreciate the POWER of Beth's voice....so many layers, so much control to take her voice everywhere it wants to go...simply AMAZING!!!
Continued success and Good Luck to Beth!
Did you all see Beth is hosting a live Q&A session on Facebook today Sunday Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. (CET-central european time = I think that's noon eastern time today).
Looks like you have to post your question on her page in advance.
I have been holding out from signing up for Facebook all this time...well, I'm on there now!
A few times last week I told me not to be disappointed if the concert of Beth couldn't be as mind-blowing as the concert she gave last year at Zeche Bochum I was wrong
Everything was great: the band, the sound, the audience. Except Beth: she was unbelievable KILLLER !!!
When Beth showed up at stage suddenly the air was filled with pure ENERGY and Beth rocked that place down
Oh Lord, she had such an unbelievable energy and charisma and a voice that lifted me (and the rest of the audience) in some heights!!! WOW. It was a privilege to be there.
Here's the official setlist:
Can't let go
Bang Bang
Better man
Sick
Lifts you up
Delicious
Sinners Prayer (spontaneously Beth decided to play ??? Not sure: Mama)
Rather go blind
Leave the light on
L.A. song
Window
Trouble
Something's got a hold
Caught out in the rain
....
Bad love
Ugliest house
Rhymes
My California / Skin
Somewhere in between there was another change of setlist and Beth announced to play something for her husband Scott. Last year it was "Stinky feet". This year it was a love song. Not absolutely sure but I think it was "There in your heart". Simply beautiful.
Here are two videos (warning: the sound quality is poor) maybe one can feel some of the vibrations:
Caught out in the rain:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY72vNPvksA
Sick (snippet of the second part) drum solo and a trip of Beth to take a bath in the crowd !!!

Thanks for the review and the clips. Caught Out in the Rain and I'd Rather Go Blind in one show. Doesn't get better than that! Glad it was a great show - can tell from the video...
Beth is nominated at the 35th Blues Award in the category " Best Contemporary Female Blues Artist". Congrats! Well deserved, I wish her luck...
