Memo to CathySiler:

Embarrassed to admit, but until all the recent hullabaloo about Ryan apprearing with Joe at Groningen, I never knew who Ryan was and who that was in your avatar with Joe!  For over a year now I just assumed it was your really cute son or your extremely handsome hubby  - - "Boy is SHE lucky!"

Glad I finally figured it out - duh - and even better that I am just discovering Ryan.  I YouTubed him and am totally impressed.  Thanks!!

He is great Sally. Believe me!

Re: Ryan McGarvey

For me one of the best bands in the world Sally. And a fabulous guitarplayer. I love Ryan McGarvey a lot.

LOL  My avatar was taken by the famous photog, Robert Knight, at Crossroads 2010, after they both had played on the Ernie Ball Stage. This was my one and only show, but I'm determined to see him again, even if I have to do so in Europe smile I was with Boston Sandra. Here's a film she made(When you hear "YEAH", that's me.)   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLvsKGG2tic

It put a magnifying glass over the spot he had been at on a smaller scale map for sure.  Ryan has put himself on the map by his great talents (yup, another child prodigy! big_smile), but of course exposure increased after the Crossroads Festival appearance.  I missed Ryan due to main stage acts I felt I needed to review.  Festivals where you have to have a plan like one needed for a Disney World visit it becomes hard to determine a direction at some point!  Given those who wanted more Robert Randolph and Joe Bonamassa (separately on village stages) had Ryan appearing also, they were exhuberant about all 3 performances, short and sweet as they were.  It was extremely HOT!!!, and Ryan's performance was heralded as matching the ambient air temp...wished I could've been 2 places at once! sad
Ryan has guested with Joe and like he does on his own shows, he has torched the crowd every time.  The Europeans contingent grew like a western US of A wildfire, especially in Germany (where else???!!!).  It has continued to choogle Ryan along to ever increasing fame, as Cathy says, to the point a Euro trip may be in Order... hmm

Re: Ryan McGarvey

There is a forum member, Keith, known as Nightwatcher's House of Rock on FB.  He was the first (I think) to mention Ryan here.  https://forum.jbonamassa.com/search.php … 8&p=19    But note that Ryan had opened for Joe, who remains a very good friend. In fact, I'd said Joe is a mentor as well. wink

Ryan certainly made some ripples when he finally landed in the UK back in May, on one of the most eagerly anticipated UK debuts I can think of. Don't just take my word for it, ask Blues Sissi who came over for 4 of the shows, or Andrew (Mentulls) Pipe who jammed with Ryan at Hartlepool.

Really looking forward to next month's UK tour; Hartlepool have booked a larger venue in anticipation (or maybe the last one took such a rockin'...?). Linda V has done a bang up job, Ryan & the band have only one night "off" this time round.

Sally don't feel bad.  I wondered for a long time who that was in Cathy's  avatar until I saw her and some folks posting on facebook about Ryan.  I have been following him ever since.  Very Handsome and man can he play
