Should have posted this earlier, but one of my favorite Minneapolis bands - Davina and he Vagabonds - has a London gig coming up next week as well as a few others in the UK. If you get a chance, please check them out: http://davinaandthevagabonds.com

Some great reviews, including a couple from previous UK tours are here: http://davinaandthevagabonds.com/press-quotes/

They're playing at Jumpin' Hot Jamboree Festival at Easington (between Durham & the sea) in the UK on Saturday - unfortunately prior commitments.

Linking the London guide into the Tyne-Tees guide, we have another artist coming to these parts soon from your way Lee, Chastity Brown....

Think they are Norman Watt-Roy solo gigs Mike. Those venues a bit small for Wilko.

Do you want to include this one? It's sold out. They will be back in 2014 though. Gonna be huge band in Europe methinks.

Blackberry Smoke, Camden Barfly, 13 November.

Re: The London Gig Guide

My first day back from sunning myself in the Algarve and Jeff Beck catches my eye. Was that an intentional misquote , Mike? lol

Here's what the 100 club website says about this gig.

"TODD SHARPVILLE’S XMAS BLUES EXTRAVAGANZA

Featuring special guests DAVID MCALMONT, MARCUS BONFANTI, JON AMOR

+ support from Britain’s hippest poet, MURRAY LACHLAN YOUNG

The UK’s most soulful blues guitar virtuoso is back at the 100 Club for an evening with his world class band, including Jeff Beck’s rhythm section. Sharpville is without a doubt one of the most emotionally powerful bluesmen on the international touring circuit today.

The night will include the guttural rawness of new kid on the block Marcus Bonfanti, the dulcet falsetto tones of pop statesman David McAlmont, and the guitar wizardry of Jon Amor (who’s legendary band The Hoax have recently re-formed).

The evening will commence with the hilarious brilliance of Murray Lachlan Young (the only poet in history to have been given a million pound record contract). Young is currently the resident poet on BBC6 & BBC Saturday live so please do ensure you arrive early as he cannot be missed!

www.toddsharpville.com"

Tix are £12 in advance, £15 on the door - if there are any left. hmm

Thanks for keeping the tread ticking over, guys.

Hey Phil - Info was lifted direct from source. Thought at the time it was a Hell of line-up for £12. Then of course, they added 2 extra words - "rhythm section" since. Still, a lot of guitar for your pound. Enjoy!
