Re: The Rides = KWS, Stephen Stills, and more
We had a really good time at the show tonight. Pretty short set, only 1 1/2 hrs, and no opening act. Kenny Wayne Shepherd is really good. (Plus he looks like Jason Stackhouse from the TV show True Blood ) Enjoyed watching him and Stills playing off each other on the songs. They were really jamming! Sound could have been a little better. Still's voice was quite weak and overpowered by the instruments, a little off at times. He and KWS alternated on singing the songs. Preferred Shepherd's voice. Impossible to do any filming, blocked at times by different people and they weren't allowing any recording because they were filming it professionally for PBS. Some of the same camera guys that were at the Rock Candy shows. They all know us there now, it's pretty cool! Here is the setlist:
Roadhouse
Pretty Good Love (I love this song!)
Don't Want Lies
Search and Destroy
Can't Get Enough
I've Got to Use My Imagination
Honey Bee (We think this was the standout song of the night, keyboardist had a great solo on the Hammond B3 and Stills and Shepherd were just going off on this one with their solos as well as playing back and forth at each other)
Love the One You're With
Blue on Black
Only Teardrops Fall
Talk to Me Baby
Word Game
Encore
For What It's Worth
Rockin' In The Free World
There really is nothing like being able to see a band play in a tiny club. Great experience and worth standing in line for 3 hrs for a good seat. And we weren't the first ones waiting, there were already 4 people there at 3:30!
