Topic: Dani Wilde
Hi Folks,
I'd like to mention another young, talented British blues artist by the name of Dani Wilde. Hubby and I saw her at the Keighley Blues club last friday and I was very impressed. She has a huge singing voice for a little lady and her brother Will plays the harmonica and sings. She is 21 and he is 20.
This was taken from Amazon in the info attached to her debut album 'Heal My Blues'
Born and raised in Wiltshire, Dani grew up listening to her father's collection of blues and soul records and started playing acoustic guitar at an early age. Latterly she turned to electric guitar, inspired by Buddy Guy. She got her first break in her teens accompanying British folk legend Maddie Prior before settling in Brighton in 2003 to take a three year music degree at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music. While there she began to make an increasingly strong impact in local music venues and then further afield.
In 2007 Dani toured the UK extensively with her own band. In January 2008 she toured continental Europe as one of the three stars of this year's Blues Caravan (the others being Candye Kane and Deborah Coleman) before returning to the UK for another extensive blitz of dates around the country.
Paul Jones of BBC Radio 2 is a fan: "Dani Wilde's voice is astounding, with a unique raw passion and energy. I truly believe one cannot consider themselves to be a true blues fan until they add Dani Wilde to their collection. She sings with more conviction and passion than old legends from the Mississippi Delta."
Here is a link to a video of her singing I Love You More Than I Hate Myself which is on her cd and written by her.
